He's got a slim chance of Olympic selection now..Hollognois wrote:Saw Mark Cavendish last night on BBC two, he didn't look like he would die soon.
I watched yesterday's high lights before todays live race on Eurosport 2 brilliant days of racing G was superb really thought that he had lost it on the last climb took a huge amount of guts to come back and fair play to Contador he tried his best but he must hate the sight of Sky ridersswitchskier wrote:Anyone watching Paris-Nice today? Contador and Porte off the front with Wellens. They've got 22 seconds on Thomas who was 12 and 18 seconds ahead at the start of the day. Thomas has Henao to help but its a mix of descent and flat to come.
I thought that Thomas had cracked when he went backwards. On a big mountain that would have been game over for him and is probably why he's not a serious candidate for a GT but excellent performance to get back and save it. Contador showed why he's a fan favourite but I was really impressed with Henao who's been looking great.caldeyrfc wrote:I watched yesterday's high lights before todays live race on Eurosport 2 brilliant days of racing G was superb really thought that he had lost it on the last climb took a huge amount of guts to come back and fair play to Contador he tried his best but he must hate the sight of Sky ridersswitchskier wrote:Anyone watching Paris-Nice today? In these days you cannot say the sort of things he is alleged to have said to either women or disabled athletes and expect to get away with itWaspInWales wrote:Bloody hell...Shane Sutton has resigned!
Yeah I read that yesterday, good on her.caldeyrfc wrote:Interesting piece by Nicole Cooke

Smart to try kill the story before it becomes a massive distraction in the run up to Rio. Does nothing to address the culture though it's never just about one person and there's been no due process.WaspInWales wrote:Bloody hell...Shane Sutton has resigned!
Aye. Completely agree but seems strange he went to great lengths to deny it then resign, then continue to deny it. Perhaps there's some footage of him saying the offensive words?caldeyrfc wrote:In these days you cannot say the sort of things he is alleged to have said to either women or disabled athletes and expect to get away with itWaspInWales wrote:Bloody hell...Shane Sutton has resigned!
Excellent piece of writing. There does seem to be a nasty streak in British cycling. Seems the success of the team had gone to the heads of people they are after all only administrators.caldeyrfc wrote:Interesting piece by Nicole Cooke

Aye, but of course they're trying to wriggle out of it by claiming that it's just a Dr's error.WaspInWales wrote:It never rains eh?

I don't know, this seems pretty plausible to me. Lots of cyclists have asthma and carry inhalers with them.Freks wrote:Aye, but of course they're trying to wriggle out of it by claiming that it's just a Dr's error.WaspInWales wrote:It never rains eh?

Nothing to see here...
I think I'm so cynical now with cyclists that even the plausible excuses have me sighing and rolling my eyes. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, why didn't he make sure that he/his Dr had applied for the TUE? I mean, ffs, it's not rocket science, surely?switchskier wrote:I don't know, this seems pretty plausible to me. I do like the Yates twins as riders though which may be colouring my view.
