Are we allowed to consider him a good coach now?

Afew questions like this now have to be asked imo.
Is AWJ our greatest ever?
Where does this team rank among the greatest Welsh teams ever?

Went to my first International at the old Arms Park boys’ enclosure in 1958. I can’t say that any team before is quite as good as this team even though our team in the 70s would come close.
AWJ has been the player of the championship for me. His leadership by example has been outstanding.
Very happy tonight and just about to open a very special bottle of red to celebrate.

AWJ, for man of his age and nearly being crippled by that cheating Healey, has been marvellous.

And to think that he was judged by many to be past it at the last RWC. This has been building for a while so well done to our coaching team.
I still think we have some work to do to make a big impression at the World Cup but this is one hell of a winning streak we are currently on.

It's time he got a K isn't it?

He deserves some recognition. His success with the Lions as well merits the Sir Warren.

Provided we can avoid injuries, then I think we can do very well.

True, but we also have a squad with real strength in depth.

I wish we could play New Zealand next week. We can beat anyone now.

England needed Martin Johnson. We need AWJ.

Totally. For the first time ever I feel like we would probably beat NZ at home

Will we win the World Cup? No.
But CAN we? I think so. For the first time ever, I believe that we're genuine contenders. You HAVE to be on top of your game AND to be lucky to win a WC, there's a massive lottery element which is why I continue to place less value on it than some - although I'd probably change my tune if we won the bugger!

He is the best coach in international rugby now. If he coached Scotland. They would win the 6Ns every three years or so. And rarely lose more than 2 games. If he coached England they would pretty much win the 6Ns every year. I honestly believe we are the number 1 NH team with a shout at the world cup.

No longer under the radar.
In fact we're a f***ing big blip on everyone else's screens.
We really can win the World Cup, I also, for the first time, actually believe. (Though if we don't, they'll say we peaked too soon... whatever that means).
It is kind of weird how Gats appears to have come good in the last year. But let's not forget how we've struggled between 2013 and now. And we still don't know how to score many tries. I really think we will miss Edwards more.

I’ll admit to having had this thought too and that’s all the Garland adoration you cunts are getting out of me.
AWJ has shit hair, so take that.

It's odd that Gatland's longevity gives us a sense of continuity of success, which is at least partly illusory. It's tempting even now to see this win as part of a pattern, the "4th Grand Slam / 5th title in 15 years" or "3rd GS in 11 (under WG)" but in reality Wales had gone five seasons without a championship win which - while no shame and certainly no crisis - is fairly sustained mediocrity. We tend to join the gaps between these peaks and imagine a "Golden Age" but what we really have is a prolonged period of variable form during which we have broadly overachieved, but often struggled too. Most of our squad today had never won a GS, or even a 6N title before. It's fairly tenuous to connect this to 2012/13. Hopefully, rather, it's the start of a new Golden Age!

What a way to bow out of the 6Ns.
He has divided support of many Wales fans through style, but he has ultimately come up with the goods.
4 6Ns, 3 grand slams and decent enough showings overall.
Spanked the Aussies as Lions coach and drew a series with the world's best on their turf.
Fair play, the guy knows his onions.
