So I was just trying to find birthplace info on some of the Russian RWC squad, and came across a very strong contender for Rugby Name of the Year, tighthead prop Innocent Zykov.

That is up there with other obvious finalists Hurricane's Flanker Du'plessis Kerife and Samoan wing Belgium Tuatagaloa.

Any other nominations? I suppose Blade Thomson should be in the mix, although he's a long way off the All-Time Champion, Springbok Ebbo Bastard.

If you were a ref, would you be able to resist giving him a yellow card? Bonus points if it was for something he didn't do.

I still have a bit of a soft spot for the name "Warren Fury" which is either the alter ego of a superhero or a hard-bitten gumshoe. Rather than a diminutive Welsh scrum-half of average quality, as reality would dictate.

Not rugby, I know, but there is a kicker in the NFL - Cincinnati Bengals, I think - called Randy Bullock. It will be difficult to beat that.

The Waikato Mitre 10 Cup 23 to play Hawkes Bay features both Rob Cobb and Antonio Shalfoon. Both very strong contenders.

Former Kiwis league player Jared Phillip McCracken has to be in with a shout.
