I'm sure you've all seen the predictable and largely meaningless blather in the rugby press, desperately trying to fill the gap between the last warm up games/squad announcements and the actual RWC starting.

There's been a plethora of filler stories like "5 Moments from 2015", "5 Players/Teams to Look Out For", "Pacific Island Players Get a Rough Deal, Don't They?", "OMFG The World Rankings", "Aren't the Japs Ever So Welcoming and Polite?", "Ooh, Aren't Ireland Good/a Bit Shit," "Sonny Bill's Coming Home Except He Isn't" etc. etc. from journos who got over there a bit early or have only just figured out that the Russian squad (a) IS ancient. and (b) shouldn't really be there.

But for utter irrelevance, I think this one takes the cake:

That is outstanding. "Apart from these two massive examples in the two biggest tournaments so far this year, no 1 seeds *never* win!"

I'm afraid I've got nothing to beat that. The English press has just been going round collecting an anodyne "interview" about how prepared we are to win the World Cup, with a different member of the England squad each day, like they're trying to collect the set before the tournament starts. I think they're only missing the rare Jack Singleton now.

We had the ever so insightful comments from Woodward on the BBC that bad discipline generally and losing a player to a card specifically could hurt a side. So do please keep this in mind.
