Japan - Russia
Couldn't see a thread (didn't look that hard)
but…
What a poor start by Japan!
Let's hope it improves!

God, I forgot how annoying Shane Williams's voice is.

"It's the kit-kat call. Take a break"
Who is responsible for this c**t being employed as a pundit?
Fun game though, if incredibly ragged.

I'm really starting to like Russia. It's funny that this is probably how it felt supporting Japan vs SA last time.

Do you reckon Air New Zealand’s inflight wifi will be fast enough to stream. I’m about to take off.

To be fair, if Ickle is the worst pundit, it will be - by a long way - the best performance ITV have ever put in.Mikey Brown wrote:"It's the kit-kat call. Take a break"

Lest we forget how bad it has been in the past

To me it's not even a contest. Rosenthal is at least pretty funny in his clunkiness. Williams is just painful to listen to, whether that's trying to be funny or laboriously explaining that "this player that is on the pitch that is a rugby player will be looking to get involved at some point in the game of rugby as the game progresses on and if he can help his team score points or do good things then that would be good because rugby is about scoring points and he'll want to get involved as the game progresses" etc. etc. He just gets stuck in a loop making the most inane points.

This is pretty shoite.
Russia are pretty poor but Japan don't have the ability to punish them.
Japan need to find another carrier from somewhere, their midfield doesn't have any punch.

Quite enjoyed that, purely through being able to watch a live match on my lunch break

Re: Japan - Russia
Thought Russia showed up pretty well and made a game of it. Japan made a lot of errors and will definitely need to find a higher gear when they come up against better opposition.
The commentary was ball achingly awful. Williams came across as being as thick as a post, while Roberts sounded like he couldnt give a toss about the whole thing.
There simply HAS to be people out there who can talk about the game with enthusiasm and insight.

Re: Japan - Russia
Fair play, comfortable though it was in the end I'm not sure anyone saw Russia living with Japan like that. Outclassed sure, but looking every inch like they deserved to be there (which, honestly, they didn't).
Special thanks to Superbru for marking Matsushima as on the bench for the match, causing me to drop him from my fantasy team...

Re: Japan - Russia
Wilko in the studio was decent, I thought. Sam and BOD a bit "will this do?" though. But yes, Gods above Harrison is tedious but at least he's served enough time to have a clue. Shane is just... not very good at this.fivepointer wrote:
