"Super" Saturday

A few hours to go. No point going to bed now.

What do we expect today? Got a feeling Aus v Fiji will be closer than many predict, but not as close as some hope. I can't bring myself to cheer for the buggers but I also can't help feeling that if Aus did somehow lose, it'd be a terrible result for Wales.

France v Arg - who knows? Either team capable of complete implosion but if neither do, France probably win.

I'm not exactly sticking my neck out alone in calling a squeaky win for SA over NZ. It's certainly the result the tournament needs so maybe it's wishful thinking. Going with it, though: NZ 26-28 SA.

The Aus Fiji game is entertaining for the neutral. Lots of missed tackles and big bullocking runs and a narrow lead for Fiji at half time. Some tired looking players though.

Japan Russia yesterday was an entertaining game as well. Russia ran out of steam but were competitive for much of the match.

Well fair play, I’ve had my moneys worth today. Three very entertaining games.

The Bokke vs All Blacks game was cracking.

Yes I really enjoyed that. A bit sorry that Arg couldn't nick it, because we'd have had a carbon-copy of the our 6N game v France and that would have been a laugh! But I saw nothing in those first two games that Wales - or England/Ireland - should fear if they fire on all cylinders.

But we might as well play the final tomorrow because basically we just watched the dress run, and I think everyone knows it.

Followed up by a not-so-super Sunday. The Ireland Scotland game was hugely disappointing.

Unless you're Irish, I imagine! :-)

If you're not, their successful style is horrible to watch, but bloody impresssive nonetheless. Although it's hard to analyze how well they did given the collaboration they enjoyed from Scotland. Jesus Hamish Christ they were fucking terrible...

Can't see what all the ragging on England is about. Kept their powder dry and got it done, no-one died. We'll be happy with the same result tomorrow.

Nice for Italy to rack up a score, a good positive game from both sides I thought, despite the obvious lack of quality. Playing in that group must feel like such a pointless waste of effort, so I applaud the attitude if nothing else.
