Suppose cronins impact off the bench is a loss, though he can't throw either so 50/50
Herring adds to poached players/reduces limericks Quota!

I feel pretty sure that it would have been Best and Niall anyway. Herring is coming a long way for feck all.

That is a long trip for feck all. On the other hand, Red should have been there from the get-go, since he is a better all-round hooker than both Scannell and Cronin.

Here's the NZ team:
1. Joe Moody
2. Codie Taylor
3. Nepo Laulala
4. Brodie Retallick
5. Sam Whitelock
6. Ardie Savea
7. Sam Cane
8. Kieran Read (C)
9. Aaron Smith
10. Richie Mo'unga
11. George Bridge
12. Anton Lienert-Brown
13. Jack Goodhue
14. Sevu Reece
15. Beauden Barrett
16. Dane Coles
17. Ofa Tuungafasi
18. Angus Ta'avao
19. Scott Barrett
20. Matt Todd
21. TJ Perenara
22. Sonny Bill Williams
23. Jordie Barrett
So we've got:
1. The wrong hooker starting
2. No Crotty to organize the backline properly, and if the wheels come off it's SBW coming on to get red-carded for thinking he's playing 2000s style rugby league.
3. Two rookie wingers.
4. A 10 at 15, and the back up fullback is a wet-behind-the-ears gangly utility who could very well get right off the reservation.
5. No dynamism from the loose-forward cover with the pedestrian Todd rather than action-man Frizzell.
It's yours to lose...

No.
No he isn't.
He may be a better all-round hooker than Best. Then again, on the showing against Japan, Paul Marshall is a better all-round hooker than Best.

I agree, Liz.
And no matter who Joe picks you can be assured Ireland are the team to lose it.

Well, this seems a bit hubristic and ill-advised.

And it just doesn't work, because it's not funny. It could be, but it just seems leaden/forced, or rather lacking comic timing. However if you're right about it being ill-advised it will then at least become funny.

Could go down as a classic alongside this one, if the result doesn't go NZ's way:

Ireland should have been carded at least twice. Ringrose is lucky to still be on the field after what was basically a DDT on Savea. Dangerous, disgusting and pathetic from Ireland.

Will say I do feel bad for all those great Irish players who just played their final match (be it absolute final test, or final RWC match). Particularly feel bad for Best and O'Mahony. O'Mahony in particular has just been a total pest each time the two teams have clashed over the last few years, including this match.

Love Nige, but he lost the plot a bit at the end there.
The Irish got away with a LOT of foul play. Honestly, considering some of the foul shit they did, they deserve to fuck off out of the World Cup.

Is it as lovely as the high shots or the DDT by Ringrose on Savea?
