I’m not reading too much into this squad, it’s a case of who is available. No one in this wider squad who I would necessarily disagree with though.

Yeah, it's the usual minus the injured players and the 5 new players, have you ever seen Shane Lewis-Hughes play?
I'm glad to see Hewitt who I think could be brilliant if he can just have a run of games injury free and also the two Dragons backrowers, we may get to see Ollie Griffiths at some point which would be nice.

This game will a great opportunity for the younger players to start making their mark with Pivac.
We have a good mix of experienced and hardened professionals in the group able to bring these newcomers on over the next year or so.
Really looking forward to the 6Ns. We play Ireland and England away, and with both of them in a little disarray after the World Cup and Saracens debacle it could be Pivac’s chance to start his Wales career with some wins and performances.

Pleased with some of those new or newish call-ups. Basham, Ollie Griffiths, Sam Davies, Halaholo, Hewitt, McNicholl. I'm not familiar with Lewis-Hughes though.

It's good to see he's got his eye on some of the exiles at Bristol, probably a bit too late for Dan Thomas now I would think, but Sheedy and Lloyd are very promising players.
Here's Lloyd's try from last weekend to whet the appetite:
