Solomona at 15 and Tommy Taylor covering the backrow from the bench. Not ideal options for Sale. I presume Luke James isn't 100% if he's on the bench without a noted fullback in the starting line up.

Sale midfield with all the subtlety of a pool ball in a sock.

Strange rotation from Exeter unless Joe Simmonds is nursing an injury?

Sale tend to fade in games sometimes. Perhaps Baxter is looking to try and keep them in touching distance for the hour and then turn up the heat later in the game.

Is that Exeter reverting to playing a 7 at 8?

I understand Solomona is being viewed as a primary fullback option this season and has been training there for a while. Seems like a reasonable idea in theory.

Yes. It was discussed on the commentary for last Sunday’s game.
The main question marks would surely be his kicking skills and positioning.

Could be a rough start to the season for exe.

If he's been training there since last season, then positioning shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Could be a strong running option from the back. Interesting position change as Sale aren't exactly strapped for fullback options.

Did Yarde not throw an elbow in to Capstick's face on the floor just then?

And I'm fairly certain that Dugdale dropped his shoulder into Lonsdale that knocked him out at the end. Not an edifying game from Sale.

Lonsdale should have been taken off. He seemed to be out cold after getting hit. The Yarde-Capstick incident merited someone taking another look at i'd have thought.
Exe deserved winners, looking a bit more like themselves. Ewers and Capstick made a huge difference in their back row.

Sale the team turning into the cheap shot merchants. Both of those definitely need looking into. The line between controlled aggression/determination is regularly being crossed.

They were determined to win back the title of "league's most unpleasant team" from Exeter.

Witty MoM! Deserved for the fun value of the try debatably but the return of Hill, Gray and Skinner to the 23 will instantly lift Exeter up a level.
