see now LGM has a particular coaching style and it is all about empowering the players to think for themselves, to develop their own gameplan, to basically take "ownership" of everything the team does on and off the field. that tends to work when you have a lot of experienced players and a core of veteran leadership within the team, it doesn't tend to work when you have a young developing squad or with players who prefer to be instructed what to do and not have to think too much about it. I'd question whether LGM and the Dragons are a good fit for each other.

He has managed them before to 3rd place in the league, their best finish, if they can get him they should imo.

Aha, cryptic! I think O'Ruddock might be appropriate as he's pretty much Irish these days..

Hard to say if the Dragons' problems come from coaching problems of just a lack of quality players. And a general sense that they are the underdogs in almost all encounters costing them a few points from 50-50 decisions IMHO.

What has Ruddock achieved since 2005 (how good have the U20s been?), and does he want to leave Ireland anyway?

I can't think of any other names, but personally I don't see the need to find another welshman for this job. Can't we get a promising Kiwi on the cheap?

True, Pivac's doing a good job down west. I just hope they don't decide to stick with Kingsley who has had no success at all in his career as a head coach.

We need to stop this rot. Sadly with the board influx I can't see much scope for a top class coach, but we need to get one at some point and make the Dragons more appealing to players. I don't think Lyn did too bad a job with the players at his disposal, but we desperately need some quality to add to the promising players coming through.
