Other 6N games

Good start by Ireland but not really taking advantage of their dominance.

Adams doesn't know if it is Saturday or Sunday out there in defence.

Haven't taken advantage yet but they could end this game 25 points up the way they're going.

Wales simultaneously seem like they're not far away from being right in it, and actually haven't got a clue how to get back in it.

You're right about Adams, he's a liability at 13.

Which is a shame as he's a quality winger at his best.

Great finish their but poor defence again.

That's just dim by Adams. Not the best if games for him.

If Wales had a 13 they'd be doing about 17 points better

Adams just been carded too, quite rightly

That should have been red. Premeditated targeting nowhere near the ball. Mind you I'm ok with him at 13 next week.

Ireland looking very slick.

Terrific, Scotland will get the backlash next week.

That's as bad of a Welsh performance as I've seen in a long time. For all that Ireland are the form team in the world right now, surely Wales won't be as bad next time out, unfortunately

Ireland looking very good. I reckon we really need a good day at the breakdown to stop them getting their momentum going. Once they get quick phase after quick phase it's hard to live with them.

As for Wales, they looked like a team missing a lot of quality. The worrying thing though for them though is that a lot of those missing are past their peak anyway.

I've written Wales off too many times in the past though!

I'm developing a real soft spot for the Varney-Gabrisi axis. Italy competing hard and their new coach has evidently got them highly motivated.

I'm not yet convinced by Garbisi. He seems to kick very flat and I've never seen him do anything surprisingly good. Young though and clearly got some attributes. Thought Italy as a whole looked a bit more robust.

Mike Adamson was actually okay I thought compared to when I have seen him previously. Commentators sometimes don't help by speaking over clear explanations and then making out like it is all too technical to follow.

Peyer was awful to wales, I counted 11 times in the first half Ireland could have been penalised. The last being the superman five over the ruck.

Wales had nothing in attack but with the penalties we give away they will ok l get plenty of chances.

We really need to not give any stupid penalties or we will let those welsh forwards into the game

have to take the ref out of the game and not give him decisions to make. Easy? Nope, you've highlighted the problem pretty well. Peyper is consistently and awful ref. He refs the favourite every time. Very difficult to take the ref out of the equation when its a bad as this, unless you simply do not contest any ruck in any way, cede the breakdown, allow the opposition to jackal if you take the ball in, have your offside line 2m behind the rear foot etc, give them room to attack. And even then if he only penalised one side.......
O'Keefe got the pen try correct but in a number of other aspects he was just as poor. We gave a couple of unnecessary pens (eg Richie on the jumper's arm in the lineout) but there were a couple at least just wrong and a few very iffy. And one I found particularly annoying - for the hooker not having the anchor foot forward at the scrum. Yet he regularly failed to penalise England sealing off, hands on ground at ruck, side entry at mauls, failing to scrum straight and only penalised Itoje once for offside - he is rarely onside at a ruck any game.

We have better refs for the remaining games, buy no guaranttee they wont ref the big team again

Well the good news we'll be favourites in Cardiff...

maybe, but I've been talking out of my arse. We've got Nic Berry next week. All bets are off. He will penalise us for lying 4 ft to the side of a ruck for not rolling away. Absolutely abysmal in Connacht V Glasgow the other week

Funny this - I'd generally say O'Keefe and Berry are two of my favourites. Don't agree with all of their decisions but rarely baffled or infuriated by them.

Italy look athletic and physical again. I fancy our ability to put either of our wings away with flat passes like that England try though, if we can get some comparable ball (a big if after yesterday's debacle)

England will be asking how they lost to us too.

Not a game of great skill but so much commitment, Wales have done so well to come back into this.

Now Young's has just come on, that could go either way

Only skimmed the game once Italy got reduced to 13 (I can see the point of the rule but it had a very harsh consequence in this match - another argument for 20 min red cards and then allowing a replacement), but Italy seemed to hang in there well. Otherwise nothing either team can really take from it.

France are seriously good aren't they?! They make a few mistakes but that is maybe inevitable when they play with such ambition and pace. They can counterattack, they have great first phase moves, and they can speed an attack back up when it is slowed down. They are also great at competing in defensive rucks.
