Ben Ryan becomes Director of Football at Brentford

He's always had something of the SCW about him - absolute confidence that, if only he were handed the reins, he could handle anything, with a famous victory in his record meaning fewer and fewer people telling him that he's talking nonsense. Let's see whether he can make a go of translating his skills to football better than Clive did.

Shame that he's not found a suitable position in rugby. Bright and forward thinking guy who has a lot to offer any sport i'd say.

As a Brentford fan, a quick clarification or two.

1) he’s director of elite performance, which means he has no say in training or direct football matters. He’s more of an overseer of all the performance aspects, making sure everyone pulls the most performance out of their team, toward the goals set by the football team.

2) he’s a Brentford fan and a season ticket holder. He’s got more to do with the sport than SCW ever did.

Ah, that makes a lot more sense than my (admittedly quick) look at the situation. Carry on all.
