Bristol starting to find some attacking form and need to recover the defencise effort of the first two games and Newcs looking to buonce back from Worcester - should be a good one if it's not too cold, we t and windy and reduces to a kick fest!

Being able to name that Puma midfield should be a timely boost for Falcons. No idea why Barton is on the bench again for them though.

Bristol must fancy this one or are have they got a few injured players?

Newcastle away can be a tricky fixture but you'd have to fancy Bris will get a result.

Interested to see how the POC/Bates centre pairing goes against international opponents.

Has Genge swung it so he doesn't have to do away games anymore?

Or is it part of the agreement around bringing him back early?

Only just tuned in because I thought it kicked off at 8. Just in time for new to take the lead.

If you didn't know which team was top the league before this game you wouldn't be assuming it was Bristol watching this. Falcons look far more up for this and are playing some decent rugby.

Missed the game, but just saw that last try. What a peach that was.

Sinckler was awful again. Then was stood on the touch line with 10 minutes to go and Bristol losing laughing and smiling. 500k a year for what he’s given Bristol is a joke. Genge has done more in 2 games.

Wasn't a good look was it and I'm normally one to talk him up. Dropped balls, a couple of scrum pens but that dominance faded, got subbed before Pearce could send him off for verbals and handbags.

I've not seen how Stuart's been getting on for Bath but he's got enough credit from the summer tour either way to be making the match day 23. Shickerling has looked very good for Chiefs as an impact player. Heyes has got a chance to stake a claim for Tigers tomorrow Vs Sarries. Davison looked solid for Falcons tonight. Sinckler could be struggling to make the side if he doesn't improve.

I thought Sinckler would kick on with Genge joining him at Bristol. Genge really stepped up and became the best LH in the league last season when given more responsibility. We saw Sinckler lead Bristol really well after his initial Lions rejection, maybe he needs a different role in the squad to focus his mind.

Not sure whats going on with Sinckler. He was poor last night and didnt look that interested. Right now you wouldnt pick him for England.
He wasnt alone in performing below par in a Bristol side that were terribly disappointing. No area of their game looked in good order, they made numerous dull errors and took wrong options. Their usually fluid attacking game looked totally out of sync.
Newcastle hardly set the world alight but were comfortably the better side. The final try was terrific. McGuigan and Chick very good, i thought.
Blamire had a good cameo. What to do with him? He's obviously got something. He can carry, he's got good hands yet if he cant play at hooker regularly how can he advance his case with England.

whilst not having a clue what might be causing this, he needs a kick up the ar5e.

And yet, if you read all of the motivational BS he puts out, you’d think he was ready to take on the world.

He reacted really well when he wasn’t picked for the Lions, but that was a short purple patch and since then he’s been at best average. Davison looked far superior last night.

Sinckler looked pumped up (in the physical sense). Presumably, his training regime is properly supervised and he can't have been swallowing steroids but his appearance makes one wonder.

I still maintain Blamire needs to leave Newcastle. He can't get by McGuigan (and that's not an outrageous selection by Newcastle - I think Blamire has a higher ceiling, but McGuigan is a talisman and sewn into the shirt) who is rarely injured, rested, never called up for internationals, and is only 29 so he's not retiring any time soon.

The stat came up on the screen last night that he started 2 games for Newcastle last season - there's no way he can force his way past McGuigan like that and it's no doubt damaging his development. He either needs to say to Walder that he needs him to rotate so he can at least stake his claim or to leave and go to a club where he can legitimately fight for the 2 shirt.
