Nigel Walker will take over as Acting CEO with immediate effect.

Current Performance Director Walker has been appointed by WRU chair Ieuan Evans and his Board on an interim basis whilst the recruitment process for a new CEO is established.

Almost inevitable given the headlines. Surprised it didn’t happen days ago. We now need to sort out PDQ the financing of the four professional clubs so we can retain players in Wales. I don’t know if Nigel is the man to do it but it aught to be one of his top priorities.

Hopefully just very temporary. We need someone who is a real professional to run this show, just another establishment figure.

But a step in the right direction.

I may be off-base, but I very much doubt that Walker wants this job on a permanent basis.
