Nothing really riding on this, although there is a mathematical chance that Uruguay could automatically qualify for 2027.

Just caught up on this. Really glad Uruguay won. They play really nice rugby and have good skills. Looks like this game got a bit scrappy but still some nice tries.
I don't know how much potential there is for them to develop, but it would be great if they could.

South America is the new world for Rugby. They’ve got Super Rugby Americas doing good things. Argentina can sort of be uncle, Uruguay is a fairly established player, Chile obviously the new kid on the block, Brazil has historically been better so they are a prospect too.
The key will be for Chile to kick on.
