New league set up to bridge the gap between domestic and international matches. Scottish teams will be aligned to Edinburgh and Glasgow while the Irish will be more regional with less of a distinct home and the Welsh offer feels a bit newer and more distinct.
Feels like a good initiative to finally have something. Very necessary with the English league showing signs of establishing itself. But is it better to set up on current structures (doubling down on branding and assume there are economies of scale) rather than setting up something new (risk it gets stuck as permanently behind and added on to the men's teams)?
