Shouldn't they be reserved for when teams are tied on match points?

We nearly benefitted but it would have been farcical if we had come second with two wins ahead of teams with two and a draw or three wins, and even more farcical if England could win four and lose the title to Ireland on three wins. In reality, we should have beem fourth behind Italy.

My ideal would be that the table is decided on wins and draws with head to head, then bonus points, then points difference, used as tie breakers.

I think it's fair given there is an uneven number of home and away games.
