Worsnip is an excellent centre! Really worth keeping an eye on.
Everyone knows about Linegar, so watch out for Winters. Goosebumps type of talent!

Great to see Newcastle backing their youth........
And assume Carnduff's injury nightmare continues? Has the curse of the age grade captain returned?

Seems quadruply so at Tigers with all four former under 20 captains sidelined. JvP, Ilione, L Chessum and Carnduff. Carnduff and L Chessum both had surgery in the summer. As did Pearson incidentally but he recovered in time for pre season where by al accounts he likes very good. Kinder also still out.

AvdF still out for Tigers as well, which is frustrating. After seeing him play one half of rugby in the flesh, I'm convinced he's a dark horse for some England caps at loosehead.

Not sure JvP counts as he's got 21 caps already

Winters? He's the only debutant I think. If so then your mate's lad is a hell of a prospect! Staggeringly good!

Still a terrible result for us.

Tigers rallied to win 10-8 away to Newcastle. Will Wand hobbling off in the second half the only injury concern there. Debuts for Kofe and Stewart in the front row (starting and as a replacement respectively).

Burrow gets another start, which is ace, and opportunities off the bench for Hogg and Jos Gilmore, who is a very promising No8. It is a shame Sale haven't given a couple of the young backs a run out in this one.
Exeter rotate heavily and still largely fail to bring their youth through. Batson is fresh out of school. Played England U18s in the summer. Good looking centre. Bailey was part of the conquering U20s and Worley-Brady is a young back rower.

The more I think of it, the more I'm a bit concerned for Scott Kirk's safety, which will be almost entirely in Kayla's hands.
34 year old, 50-cap All Black, against a 21 year old who's natural level might be on the bench for a championship side.

Add in Coen as starting FH, and that's 4 more young players than they usually allow to touch a rugby ball for PRC

1st try, good break by Winters, feeds Mens for the try
Yellow card for Nepo - high tackle, probably lucky there's no TMO. Kirk off, no HIA required (I think)
2nd try, Glos maul off a lineout around the Bath 10m line, draw in the defenders, and puts Hathaway in unopposed, despite being a man down.
3rd try, loads of phases after a Bath lineout 10m out, eventually getting over the line.
Emanuel scrummaging against Laulala now...
Generally, Bath with possession, but Glos with better quality - more clinical, and very effective 5m defence

Brilliant 50:22 from Barton, but Bath steal the lineout but SH can't hold it, ball straight to KFP who scores, and a fight breaks out into the hoardings.
Try stands, but restart is Bath penalty. Shed don't realise and eyore the kick to touch. Glos steal the lineout.
Bokenham loses the ball over the line, with clock in the red, ball goes dead, so we restart with a goal-lime drop out. Barton misses the drop goal return, so we restart with a 22m drop. One of the Knights scores, and I take the dogs out.
G 19/21 - 12 B
HT
ETA: of course, screen clock and ref.s watch may have disagreed above - oops

2nd half.
Bath tightening up and playing keep ball - doing it well too.
Unlucky with a held up over the line, but hey.
Glos defence not being asked to do anything complex, and being nice and solid. They do like lying on the wrong side of rucks, but ref like rewarding them.
Messy ball as Glos steal fuck ball (with just the two players at Bath's back foot) but goes out sideways. Butt swoops and puts Offish in for the try.
G 19 - 17 B
60min
So far, Barton is my MotM, with honourable mentions for Trenholm, Cuckson and Woods.

Weird.
Glos maul and going forward. Play stops as 2nd ball comes onto the pitch, restart as lineout to Glos for some reason
Penalty to Bath 35m out.
2 points down, 7 min tomplay - gotta go for the posts!
Does, but misses (in fairness, wind is high and blustery, both FHs ha e missed kicks they should get)
Stalemate in the 2nd half.
Weird to say, Bath lost, but are probably the happier.
