Also, given how up and down parts of Ford's development was, the idea of dropping him and starting all over again with an even less ready 10 is... uhm...

As is Andrew if he’s dressing up a Cilla Black.

Wasn't sure if it was a Panto thing, or if maybe Ted was the voice guy from Blind Date

I will assume then she's played Cilla at some point? This no doubt high quality piece of work has passed me by until today, but I'll make sure to watch it now of course

Hey, I'll have you know I've watched whole minutes of some of her shows when for whatever reason I was stuck somewhere someone was watching such dross.

Cilla's shows were pants, but her life was interesting, which is what was portrayed.

Things I know, which might be wrong, born in Liverpool, some success as a singer despite singing voice, made a fortune presenting TV shows, died falling over drunk at home. What stands out to me would be arriving at University and being surprised to find intelligent people watched Blind Date

Some thoughts after watching AIs:

Firstly Cole, he seems to be a bit too secure in his post and maybe a stint on the bench with Williams or Sinckler starting would give him the metaphorical kick up the backside needed to contribute beyond the set piece? (For a while he used to be quite handy at winning turnovers...)

At lock Ewels and Kruis are both solid but unspectacular imo - Iserkwe might have the talent to leap ahead of both. Regarding Itoje, his glaring weakness for me is a lack of power in the carry and this was really shown up on his outing at 6 against Samoa - don’t get me wrong, he’s superb in the lineout and close quarters but for me lacks dynamism in the loose (contrary to how the media portray his image in adverts etc)

In the back row both Underhill and Simmonds have been real finds (much progress has been made given this time last year Eddy was trying to shoehorn jumbo players like Mike Williams into the 7 jersey and even had to resort the embarrassing u turn of selecting Tom Wood :) ) - Robshaw is as reliable as ever as an out and out 6 - but when asked to play 7 , any limitations in his play in particular his lack of pace and lack of instinctive fetching skills are severely exposed, in short playing Robshaw at 7 is a retrograde step imo and Eddy should have stuck to his gut instinct on this.

For me picking Hughes and Billy should be a horses for Courses matter - depending on conditions and opposition - in the match against Argentina Hughes displayed a level of pace and athleticism that Billy could never hope to match - yet the damp sodden conditions of the Oz test cried out for Billy’s ability to carry in heavy traffic. Simmonds has the ability to play 8 competently and dynamically at test level and unlike Hughes and Billy he truly has the mobility and work rate to play on the flank at test level imo. The interesting question might be does Simmonds decide not merely to settle for being the versitile back row utility forward but to try and take a starting flanker berth from either Robshaw or Underhill?

One of my clubmates got in the tabloids back when Blind Date was a thing after going on, going off on the date with some lass, and shagging someone else while out there.

Does/did your mate look like Alan Shearer? I had a female friend of a friend who went on the show and tells/told the same story. Though, I’d imagine it’s not uncommon.
