I'm honestly starting to think there is someone within the Scottish coaching set up turning all of our promising halfbacks into bollocks, slow down the break down, crap box kickers. Nearly all of them seem to start out snappy, fringe snipers that rarely aimlessly kick, then within a season... This... Just... This...Croft_No.5 wrote:The most inept kicking display I have seen. Not sure, I'd hazard he's injured considering we are starting the front row. Might need a transfusion after the 6 nations. That man is eternally bleeding from some part of his head.Chunks Baws wrote:What's the script with Hardie? Injured or rested? There was speculation he came off against Ireland due to injury but I've not seen any sort of official news.

Any other set of fans and I'd probably laugh too, but I cant stand Newport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:In fairness that made me laugh.Chunks Baws wrote:"Miss it you midget". Stay classy Newport.

Speaking of the geniuses in the crowd, that last line out, some cat braying at Embra to hurry up... Whilst the dragons are making a substitution.Chunks Baws wrote:"Miss it you midget". Stay classy Newport.

Hideous game, but a win is a win. I'll take it.
As a bit of a preemptive strike... Save your finger Greg, we know that Embra are the worstest team I the whole wide world etc... It's all good.
Edit: I was going to fix the typo on finger by adding an "s" to it, but I find the idea of you typing furiously, smashing the keyboard with only your index finger mildly amusing.

Cheers bawbag. I've been spreading the Glasgow gospel in far away lands. Damn near shat it when Hogg wanted the kick... The team have used it for a few years now, see here for details Can't think I've heard it from the crowd though.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:Was going to say that as well.hp18 wrote:Thank feck for Ritchie. Welcome back from wherever the fuck you've been by the way. Also, good win for your lot on Friday. Crowd sounded good. Am I hearing tartan army songs in there now? I swear I heard a verse of we'll be coming down the road.

Is Kinghorn being viewed as an out and out full back then? Or do we think he'll get the chance to stake a claim against Weir and Tovey?

Hard to say. He's not the finished article yet - his attempted tackle on Amos was pathetic.OptimisticJock wrote:Is Kinghorn being viewed as an out and out full back then? Or do we think he'll get the chance to stake a claim against Weir and Tovey?
He's a big, big prospect for the future but I can't help but feel his inclusion at 15 is largely due to him being a bright talent but also a significant part of there just being nobody else. I suspect Edinburgh's first XV next season will have Weir and Bryce in it. Kinghorn covering both from the bench.
As it stands he looks more suited to 15 but I haven't seen enough of him at 10. He doesn't strike me as a natural distributor/passer though.

Seems fairly rapid to me, check out the tries v England u20s.

Can't say I know where Solomon's stands on this, but I don't think he's necessarily pegged for anywhere yet.OptimisticJock wrote:Is Kinghorn being viewed as an out and out full back then? Or do we think he'll get the chance to stake a claim against Weir and Tovey?

Ah, yes, I have seen him then. Paddy power were offering some silly odds on us by more than 12 and I cleaned up off a £3 bet.hp18 wrote:At least he didn't show us his class.General Zod wrote:I've not seen Kinghorn, er, open his legs yet. Is he fast?

Paddy Power also offering odds on the length of Donald Trump's manhood, but I'm not betting he'll open his legs any time soon.

Re: Solly's Soul Destroyers
I think HP is right. The important thing is that he is getting regular game time at the moment. He is only just turned 19 in January so there is plenty of time to move him to 10 if that is what is planned.hp18 wrote:Can't say I know where Solomon's stands on this, but I don't think he's necessarily pegged for anywhere yet.OptimisticJock wrote:Is Kinghorn being viewed as an out and out full back then? I guess he may be pegged as a 10 for the U20s next year when the others move up?
With Manu injured and Ritchie doing fairly well I would hope Ritchie will continue to get a run in the side. How did Bradbury play when he got on?

Bradbury was pretty good actually.
Some nice big hits, some good running with ball in hand and one great sit-down on an attempted tackler.
I was impressed.

That's good to hear, I've thought he was decent in the few times I have seen him play. Admittedly one of those was for Boroughmuir last season.laribold wrote:Bradbury was pretty good actually.

He is now at the age Ashe was thrown into international rugby (too early for his own good perhaps) so will be interesting to see how he develops from now. Ritchie at 19 and Bradbury at 20 are showing encouraging signs which is great.

Was the only thing worth watching after he replaced Ritchie (who was probably about the only thing worth watching prior to that).

Andress to head to munster next season. I'm sure we're all in agreement just how lamentable this will be

Edinburgh could do a lot worse than signing Moray Low. He has 1 year left but I just can't see him playing any rugby next season with Greg Holmes and Tomas Francis contesting that 3 shirt too.OptimisticJock wrote:Andress to head to munster next season. Fife with the sevens squad for the next tournament. A sign that he's on his way? Certainly out of favour and we're not exactly overflowing with wing options.
