The Samoan centres are having a mare. Probably overawed by Le Bourgeois.

Now he’s picking in Dickson.

I can only assume we’re knocking on so much for the lols at scrumtime. Not sure I’ve ever seen Bedford be so dominant at the scrum.

I would castigate Dickson for knocking on twice in a row, but with the fun that his forwards are currently having, it's probably his best tactic.
Bristol just tried to take that one down early and Bedford held them up, bent them backwards, and then drove them into the ground. Utterly brutal.
God, I wish Dewi Morris would stop talking.

Frankly ref, it seems a bit mean calling knock-on advantage over for Bedford when they kick it. It's effectively a penalty advantage really.

Awful kick aswell. Just’ve just dropped it and taken the scrum.Puja wrote:Frankly ref, it seems a bit mean calling knock-on advantage over for Bedford when they kick it. It's effectively a penalty advantage really.

Uh oh. Average winger at 15 and a 9 (albeit a wing at u18) on the wing.

Be good to have Digby’s commentary on the game, though I presume he is too busy watching the movie Pride

No point. He’ll be on his third Sherry and he’ll just tell us some meandering story about his mother.

Dickson has gone back to his end of Northampton form, ie fannying around at the base of the breakdown.

And as Dickson tires, the fast movement from the base disappears and the complaining and handwaving at the ref increases.

And that's the game. Unlucky Mells, but the lads did well.

They did. If you’d offered any Bedford fan a five point loss they’d have bitten your hand off.Puja wrote:Hah, jinx!Mellsblue wrote:Dickson has gone back to his end of Northampton form, ie fannying around at the base of the breakdown.

Thought Bedford were the better side for much of the game. A little bit more luck and rub of the refereeing green and they would have won.
Rayer has done a great job with limited funds. Why isnt he talked about as a prem coach?
Bris obviously have to strengthen their front 5. Unless they add some serious quality, they are going to find life very hard next season assuming they do go up.

I was just thinking during the game that I'd take him at Leicester in a shot. He's been at Bedford so long that I think he's grown roots though.fivepointer wrote:Thought Bedford were the better side for much of the game. I think the last sentence is pretty much it. He’s also on a good wage for what is a part time job. As much as I tout him, he’s also pretty old school and very laid back. I’m not sure he’d fit in in a pro environment. Add all that to him loving the club and the town, and I can’t see him leaving.Puja wrote:I was just thinking during the game that I'd take him at Leicester in a shot. Enjoyable, but a massive step down in quality and overall skills from the AP.

If Leicester put together a good catering package I reckon he’d have his feet under the table before the ink had a chance to dryPuja wrote:I was just thinking during the game that I'd take him at Leicester in a shot. It's not a horrendously long commute for him to get to Saints or Tigers...
I also like the look of Ben Ward of Ealing as having good coaching potential

Plus I don't know he'd know what to do with a squad that didn't disassemble every summer and require him to build anew.Mellsblue wrote:I think the last sentence is pretty much it. I know nothing of him, but the fact that Ealing are even close to Bristol is impressive, especially considering where they came from.Which Tyler wrote:It's not a horrendously long commute for him to get to Saints or Tigers...
