I'd been looking forward to this match all week but it only sparked into life in fits and starts. Scarlets played well but boy La Rochelle were naïve and error prone. I also think Scarlets got the rub of the green on most of the ref's decisions. It's a shame we didn't get to see a La Rochelle back row of Botia, Gourdon and Vito - they must be up there as the best back row in Europe. I was also annoyed that I didn't get to see J Davies in the back row for longer than ten minutes. The Scarlets backup flyhalf looks like a talented player.
Overall, it's good for a Welsh team to progress. It's always nice to see those less fortunate have their moment in the sun

Indeed. It drains all enjoyment out of a game when they build a big lead. Much better to have a classic one point victory.

Having now watched the match I can say that the first La Rochelle try was pretty dubious, I'm not sure how the TMO was sure of that grounding.

Fantastic defence for the Scarlets throughout the match - the foundation of their victory. Well deserved win.
