When you have 13’s coming out of your ears, nobody at 12 and Lozowski starts at 13 for Sarries........

Interesting to see him start at 8 with Robshaw at 7 when you’ve got Luamanu there, but I guess that just comes down to control at the back.Scrumhead wrote:I can’t be bothered to create a thread for Quins vs. London Irish, but it’s good to see Clifford starting.
Great to finally see Smith/Saili/Marchant.

Just seen that Dom Barrow played for La Rochelle yesterday at 6. Is it just a bloke with an identical name or has he pulled a Attwood?

Potentially looking at Ross for the South Africa tour.

Given his consistent good form he should be actively under consideration. Been impressed when i've seen him play. Got a big game tomorrow, so another chance to assess his claims for a tour spot.

I'm not sold we need to have a butchers at Ross, and instead with Billy and Hughes we should simply look at Mercer and Simmonds

Good article Raggs and backs up my positive impressions of Willis. It is worth noting that BCurry is in his second season and thus is likely to find it harder than Willis who is still an unknown quantity, however those numbers do very heavily suggest that Willis should be going to SA as our starting 7.

To me those numbers reflect the roles they're assigned. I'm not against Willis going, I'd take both, but if I had to guess (and it is a guess at this point) which will end up the better player it's Curry

I think Curry had the higher ceiling overall, but it's far from a settled discussion as to who will be better.

Is shields more of an 8 or a 6?

I'd agree we don't know which will end up the more effective player, Curry I think will be the better player but not every style of play and selection balance is going to suit both players equally. And of course injury may yet prove a factor

6 from the little I've seen. No idea how he'll do over here but I'd hope Willis is making dai consider the pecking order

As others have said, I like the idea of Willis and Curry. I’d like Jones to use SA to blood some youngsters whilst giving the Lions and others who’ve had a heavy season and/or injuries training duties only. Then as of the AI’s it’s full bore to the World Cup.

Jack Clifford apparently torn hamstring off the bone. That’s usually 4 months+ I think, often more. The boy has no luck.
Af least it’s early enough in the year where he can realistically target coming back early next season.

For fucks sake.
That sounds seriously painful. Never mind an awful injury for an explosive backrower.

The Times have Joseph as likely to miss the SA tour.

Noone who watched the match will be surprised by that. Looked like a complete rupture of the medial ankle ligaments.Mellsblue wrote:The Times have Joseph as likely to miss the SA tour.
Didn't seem in too much pain, which suggests complete rupture; and no break; but they'll have to wait and see what the scans show. I'd expect surgical repair, and 6 months of rehab (18 for complete healing)

Does that mean it cleanly disconnecting? That’s preferable?

Re: EPS Watch / Player Form Thread
As in the ligaments looked to have completely snapped - preferable to a nasty compound fracture like Cip's, but not preferable to many alternatives. At the time, you could argue that it's preferable as it would tend to do enough damage to the nerves that they don't get to sent out many pain signals; but that's not a good thing, just a less painful thing.
