winning 4- 3 on pens.odd innit ?
Russia stay home. :|..gave it their best which fell short.
Decent effort from Russia though. I don't think many non-Russians would've thought they could've gone as far as they did.

Never underestimate home advantage.

The home team appeared disjointed throughout -
the existence of the Premier league with it's concentration of some of the best players and managers around has certainly benefitted Eng and a few other teams.

Overall Europe delivers again:
75% QF teams from Eur, 100% SF teams from Eur.

France & Croatia most likely IMO, but there could be a surprise.

"Comment pourrir une fin de match"

Great game management in the end by France. Not the prettiest though...

Can't deny that I keep expecting 'the Engerland' to choke.....no sign of it yet.

Best moment so far was listening to Roy Keane berating himself for the way he used to treat referees.
'Of course, by the time I realized my behaviour towards them was compromising my teams chances on the 50/50 calls, I was in my 30's and it was too late'.

Fair play to you Roy....I love a man that can admit his mistakes.

Much has been made of how this England team represents the new, multi-cultural make up of the U.K. To underline this, my mother has let me know that my eldest managed to swap his Ronaldo panini sticker for a Harry Khan one before school this morning.

As Norman.S.Fletcher might say: 'I didn't even know he was a Muslin'.

It's been quite amusing that the beating the Russian military (posing as ultra's) dealt to the England fans in Marseille has been a boon to this tournament. Now that's planning.

England's best distributor is Pickford!

They could do with yanking Ali, Young and Sterling.

Not the 'passing game' much talked about. :|
Nerves got to Kane & Lingard also with clear sight of goal..tentative placing when a good leather was in order.
Next goal mucho importanto.

FT 1 - 1
Eng get another chance - under the cosh for much of 2nd. half.
Rashford made a difference in terms of retaining possession.
They'll hope the younger legs can stretch the Croats a bit more in ET.

Link doesn’t work but it was a picture of Johan Cruyff, quite uncanny lookalike.

Just when I'd pretty much lost interest I come home and catch the tail end of a great result like that. :P Croatia, population 4 million, through to its first final. I was actually looking forward to le crunch football style, but this is even better!
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

I know nothing about football but I thought England played really well until Croatia scored and then went into full on panic mode. Disappointed about not getting a public holiday and was speculating earlier that they would have to invent a new gong for Gareth as Sir simply wouldn’t cut it if they won. But well done you pathetic fragile whining dicks in any case.

Lol.

But yeah. I'm afraid I thought Stones lost his rag in all England's difficult games.

Also, Walker wasn't good at CB and Young was badly exposed in this game. Meanwhile, Lingard had one of his disappearing tricks. Truth is, we're 2-3 players short of a really good team and Croatia showed that. When the going got tough, some of the players couldn't cope.

Really happy with the core, though. Pickford good, Magurie surprisingly good. Henderson was really good. Kane was very good when he got the ball (will surely win the golden boot) and Sterling's movement was excellent, though his final product was poor.

I agree with Gareth: this is a team in progress, not the finished item. Will be really interesting to see how they develop over the next 2 years.
