Grim. Hope the c*nts are given some harsh sentences.
The bouncers in question look exactly like the entitled, roided-up twats that put me off Cardiff for life years ago.

Jesus. God knows why they were charged only with affray. It has a maximum 3 year sentence and throttling someone to passing out should certainly have been more than that.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Re: Shane
Saw this earlier. Absolutely shocking.
I appreciate the need for club and pub security staff to be able to deal with physical situations, but that is just an assault which doesn't in any way seem to be necessary, or a reasonable use of force given the situation.
I'd be very surprised if they didn't know who he was and I hope they get the maximum term.
Also hope Coyote Ugly and other venues look at this and ensure it isn't repeated. The video should be used for educational purposes for door staff.
This didn't surprise me though:

What the fack is wrong with some people? The court heard fans were asking for selfies in the city centre nightspot when a stranger tried to headbutt his younger brother.

Re: Shane
Obviously we're only being fed selected details, because throttling someone to unconsciousness in not "affray". There's clearly more going on, perhaps (and perhaps not) linked to the fact that Williams himself was originally charged.

Re: Shane
Surely whatever the group did prior to ejection is a separate issue?
There are two grim incidents in that footage. The group is successfully ejected from the club. Dean Williams is about 3-4 metres away from the exit, Aled James approaches him and lands quite a few blows. Dave Wing then trundles along, puts him in a chokehold for some reason and renders him unconscious.
I'm no legal expert but anything less than years rather than months in prison for those two, especially Wing, would be a travesty.
Flowers does land a fair few blows but it's so close to the exit and "close" combat it's hard to conclude whether it's reasonable force and/or in self defence.

Re: Shane
That is inexcusable. If he felt Shane was being threatening, then he was perfectly entitled to use reasonable force to control the situation.
Punching a bloke in a hold who isn’t a threat is not reasonable force. It’s assault. Looking at the angle of the blow, he is lucky Shane wasn’t seriously hurt.

Watch the video in the first link which shows what happened outside. That's even worse IMO.Sandydragon wrote:That is inexcusable. If he felt Shane was being threatening, then he was perfectly entitled to use reasonable force to control the situation.

Plus 180 hours community work for two, 120 hours for the other.

Why as I not surprised? They will be working somewhere else before too long where the victims/customers will get less media attention when beaten senseless.WaspInWales wrote:16 months for two of the doorman, 10 months for another...
