I remember some young lad, Hutchison, doing well at U20 level at centre. And there’s some lad in the Aussie 7s called Henry Hutchison who must have some Scottish in him! Still, perhaps not as bountiful as I assumed.
Horne 29 this year.
My main point was really suggesting that Redpath couldn't be a player for the here and now as he has only 1 game for Sale 1s. But there isn't a huge amount of depth looking at the 2023 RWC cycle where Redpath would be an option if he wanted to be Scottish.
Harris has signed a new deal at falcons. Probs good news as I'm not sure our teams would really want him but Newcastle seem to look after them well. The danger for him and Hardie is that they get relegated

Harris going down might at least spell an end to him featuring for us.

Apparently Embra were interested. Didn't read the article, going off what a poster else where said.
Richie Gray is in the Toulouse starting XV this afternoon at Racing92.
It's too late to play against France but maybe he'll be considered for the last two games against Wales and England?

On the basis of current french players form and recent outings I don't think he's got the right sort of fitness for the high tempo game we are looking to play.
Finn Russell has been replaced before half-time (maybe an agreement with Gregor Townsend?) and Racing are down 12-27 at the break!
Edit - with a suspicion of concussion. Let's hope it was just precautionary and nothing worse than that because your boys must fancy their chances against a disjointed French team.

Our high tempo game will suit him because we have to stop after knocking it on with great fucking regularly.
He also strongly insinuates he has not been offered a call up but would consider one. The mind boggling question is why have we not offered him one? He'd comfortable be second or third choice for us with the realistic prospect of sharing the shirt with mini Horne for years to come.

We appear to have changed that view for Jones in SA but he was doing well in SR and was walking into the starting line up.
I suspect if he was to sign for Edinburgh or Glasgow he'd go straight into the wider squad for the WC warm ups.
Why does he need to sign? Cap him and worry about the domestic deal later. He's a superb talent and better than any scrum half we have bar G Horne and even that one is debatable.
Given he's just indicated interest publicly anything short of inclusion in the RWC warm up squad is a massive doo doo on our part.

Not saying he does. Just pointing out what happened before.

Him indicating interest doesnt necessarilly mean he would welcome a token cap. I suspect he would want to be sure that it was a long term decision. Playing in both hemispheres long term isnt imo
Watching the premiership highlights on channel 5. Lovely try finish by Hutchinson. I know it's way too early but he just looks like a test player, we're desperate and if he has one more good performance next weekend if have him in the squad.

Bad no look pass by fwd leads to an intercept try when Worcester were pressing. He also then gets badly bumped for another try (disallowed by tmo).

I think you're missing my point. He hasn't been approached by the SRU. He's eligible and he's superb. That's a mistake.

I dont think he has said here has been no contact at all but if that is the case then I agree
Finn Russell is due to have a check-up with a neurologist tomorrow and if passed fit, will probably play in the Top14 match against La Rochelle this weekend.
If he plays, let's hope he comes through unscathed.
