Will give it a miss, thanks. I’m guessing the Fijians were bigger, faster and significantly more skilled than us. Like every other team in this tournament.

Yeah, can't fault the effort from our lads, but the Fijians were in a different league to us in attacking play.

At the end of the day it's U20's. Remember when David Blair guided us to a win over England at the age groups and we all thought he was going to be Scotland's next great 10? Last year's group already looks to have a few solid pros. If only Blain and maybe the hooker make the step up then so be it.

What's more worrying is that means that we're relegated and don't get to compete next season I think?

Also Carl Hogg strikes again. What were the Ospreys thinking?

Ospreys might have been thinking "Oh look: we can afford a forwards coach and AWJ!"

We are relegated, which means we compete in a second-tier competition next year. That's probably a fair reflection of how we played this year.

I've heard people say the big downside of that is that the prospect of playing in the top-tier competition is attractive to players outside Scotland, and it's an important part of getting dual-qualified players to opt for Scotland. I'd like to think that this will be an incentive to improve the progression pathways within Scotland.

Quite a few of those are returning so hopefully that will help. Otherwise it is an early test of whether Super 6 has helped. Underdogs in most games I would suggest though

Also impressed by Frostwick and Darge for us. The former is always looking to break whilst the later has a bit of the Watson about him in the way he runs.

Breathless passage to end the half with a terrible miss by our fullback to end it. Ireland look to have a bunch of very balanced runners.

Scotland better than that result but errors were punished

On another night there scrum would have dominated the match

On other forums there has been chat that some of the under 20s have really benefitted from the S6. Hopefully a few players will come through from this crop.

I didn’t watch the Ireland game - Dunno if we were any better than recent years, or whether super 6 has brought players on (probably too early to tell).

Anyway, does anyone know where the under 20 match will be broadcast this Friday, as I can’t get to Myreside.

Anyone watching? Really good start, lots of aggressive running off nine and getting over the gain line.

Nevermind. Scored a penalty then in typical Scottish fashion gave up a cheap try, compounding errors on top of each other.

Weird seeing a Scottish age group side getting the upper hand in the scrum. Lineout needs sorting though.

Again I like the book of forstwick at nine, or am I just desperate for a youngster to break through there?

Fun game, though England had more of a cutting edge when it mattered. I think that super 6 has definitely had an impact, they didn't look physically outmatched the way they usually do at this level.

Worth remembering how bad this group were in the summer. Lots of progress since the and can definitely see some of them stepping up. Darge a standout for me.

I thought they played pretty well yesterday. A good few things to work on but some very good play.

Looks like another decent crop of back rowers.
