His coruscating commentary is the best in the business.

he should practice the following phrases in a broad Northern accent
'up and at 'em'
'go forwards'
'go harder'

Miles is. Barnes is not. So, small victories.Mr Mwenda wrote:Mellsblue wrote:They usually hire them.Mr Mwenda wrote:Are he and Miles involved in itv's world cup coverage at all?
They've mostly got the BT Sport lot, plus Wilkinson and Clive "Let me tell you how I did it when I won the World Cup" Woodward.

Harrison will get a gig but surely not Barnes.
Can't bear his obvious favouritism and reluctance to alter his view when the slo mo replay proves he was talking out of his arse.
And another thing, if you've played at the highest level and been employed to write and commentate on the game for a number of years, don't give me that "i was a back so haven't a clue whats going on in the scrums" bullshit.

If ITV give Woodward a flip chart and he writes the words ‘gun team’ and/or mentions how he’d have run this very scenario through during training the TV is going out of the window.....again.

If that's a TV for each time that happens...Mellsblue wrote:If ITV give Woodward a flip chart and he writes the words ‘gun team’ and/or mentions how he’d have run this very scenario through during training the TV is going out of the window.....again.
It'd be cheaper to take 8 weeks off work, fly (first class) to Japan, stay exclusively in 5* hotels and get tickets for every match - even ones that are on at the same time; but avoid the commentary.
That's assuming your TV is a 20" POS

Do what I do - watch the game on a 5 minute delay, so you can hit fast forward every time the commentators say those hideous words, "Let's get the thoughts of Clive Woodward down on the touchline. Clive?"Which Tyler wrote:If that's a TV for each time that happens...Mellsblue wrote:If ITV give Woodward a flip chart and he writes the words ‘gun team’ and/or mentions how he’d have run this very scenario through during training the TV is going out of the window.....again.

No, but if you ask that question three times into a mirror, Clive Woodward appears behind you and bores you to death.ad_tigger wrote:Does anyone even know what a gun team is?

Haha very good. That 'gun team' thing is just absolutely fcking ridiculous, cringey, terrible.Mellsblue wrote:If ITV give Woodward a flip chart and he writes the words ‘gun team’ and/or mentions how he’d have run this very scenario through during training the TV is going out of the window.....again.
The more I hear from Woodward the more I question whether or not I'd have prefered us to lose the bloody thing.

If we win it may shut Woodward up a little.

Has anyone pondering on the squad thought I wish we had Polledri or Skinner?

Mostly from a dog-in-the-manger perspective - more on Skinner than Polledri as Scotland are more likely to cause us problems in future fixtures. I couldn't see either being in the squad.Digby wrote:Has anyone pondering on the squad thought I wish we had Polledri or Skinner?

Re: EPS Watch / Player Form Thread
I think Skinner would be a perfect replacement for Launchbury but, as Puja says, I doubt he’d trouble our squad in the short term. He also seems to be prone to injury.
Polledri would make a great back up to Billy.
