The omission of Lee and Rob Evans are probably the main headlines, but neither can really claim to be on form at the moment.

Otherwise, no major shocks given availability.

Not a fan of the 18-13 split

Especially as you've still only got 5 props

Wyn Jones is covering tighthead as well as loosehead.

I know - but in my view that should definitely mean a leaning towards a 17-14 split
(An 18-13 makes slightly more sense to me when there is 6 props)

You're looking really quite light in the 10/12 department

Watkin is our only specialist centre cover. :?

I rate him highly but you could hardly argue he's proven at test level yet. I presume Scott is considered too raw from his lay-off otherwise he's the no-brainer pick in that slot.

I know we can always call replacements out but we're talking about the other side of the planet here. What if Foxy suddenly pulls up on the morning of the Aus game? Do they really think Watkin is ready for that? Maybe they do, and maybe they're right... I hope so.

Watkin's inclusion over Scott Williams is my biggest disagreement with this selection. Watkin is good, but he still has yet to really prove himself at test level. Scott has done that, and had a better game on Saturday.

NORTH or Amos can both cover 13, you would have thought tho that Owen Lane's versatility may have seen him picked ahead of Amos as we already have three other players who can cover fullback.

Rob Evans better than what's heading to Japan

Completely agree. He’s a bit rusty but I’d rather have him in the squad than Carre who is one for the future.
