RWC matches without individual threads.

Post by Which Tyler »

No thread for Aus v Fiji?
I wasnt intending to watch live, but my brain had me awake for more than an hour.

What a start for Fiji! Complete hash of receiving the ball, twice.
Quickly ran up the length of the pitch.

Aus 0 - 8 Fiji
10 min

Aus are really rattled, several high tackles (only one spotted) a few stupid calls, and the odd utter panic.

The crowd didn't know who to support, loved the Cibi, and had absolutely madenup their minds within 15 minutes.

Aus 7 - 14 Fiji
30 min

You'd still favour Aus to settle down and get their heads straight at HT, closing the game down, but still.

Seen a replay of Hodge on Yato... Faz would have been proud, and that's a yellow all day every day, with careful TMO reviews to see if red given the official clampdown.

Fair few other tackles from both sides that really should have been given a review if WR are being true to their word

Turned it on at half time to the replay of Hodge. Red to the neutral (fiji) fan. Poor show ref, why doesn't the tmo ever pipe up in any game other than against england?

Hard luck fiji. Gave it a lash.

Yeah just been watching the replays and should obviously have been a card and probably red. Hard for the ref from where he was though, it wasn't reviewed at the time?

Well, Hodge is very lucky -- and if Yato hadn't flattened him, it'd have been obvious

Unlucky Fiji - Aus got smart when Genia came on, but they're definitely not looking like the team that beat NZ with a record score in the latest RC

No ugly blazers among the sa coaches, no wonder they're disintegrating.

That, and the switch to dummy kicking and runners angled against the rush defence.

How New Zealand was that?

You disrupt them, frustrate them, dominate them for 20 minutes; you look up and the scoreboard says 0-3. Then you drop the ball, and 30 seconds later it's 17-3. :-D

Mapimpi is an awful defender just can't play in a semifinal

If kriel comes in that leaves sa very short on options

It's not unthinkable for Scotland to finish 4th in that group..

I doubt it. Unless Japan are substantially better than they showed against Russia, Scotland should have more than enough for them.

And Samoa aren't what they used to be.

Unfortunately for Scotland, Japan are substantially better than they showed against Russia.

Bloody hell. I feel sorry for Russia. Four day turnaround against possibly the most physical team in the tournament. I hope for they’re sake that Putin has organised for some ‘vitamins’ to aid with recovery.

I'm 45 minutes through the Sam v Rus game. Wtff was going on there? 2 clear red cards bottled by Poite. Lee Lo clearly away with the fairies but allowed to play on by Poite and the Samoans.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

NS. Gone but not forgotten.
