All Blacks v Italy is...probably cancelled?
The All Blacks team announcement has been postponed as it looks like the game may well be cancelled.
Given the likely result if played, cancellation won't change the playoff match-ups as NZ will still qualify top. But they will be left short a game in preparation.

A cancellation also tarnishes several All Black stats/records. Namely:
- The 14-0 record against Italy, which will plummet to 14-0-1
- The 17 match RWC winning run being downgraded to simply unbeaten
- The 32 year -- nine tournament -- record of winning every pool match, again, being downgraded to simply unbeaten

Yep, cancelled, as is England v. France.

Shame on you, sweet Nerevar

No statistician is going to treat this as an actual result of a test match. It is simply being treated as a draw for the purposes of the Pool table.zer0 wrote:A cancellation also tarnishes several All Black stats/records. Namely:
It is, quite frankly, unacceptable.

Positives:
Avoid (unlikely) chance of loss
Avoid (significant) risk of cards/bans following poorly executed tackle
Avoid risk of injury
Negatives:
Going into QF underdone
Unusual situation. Just got to deal with it.

Parisse thinks that if the ABs needed the bonus point win to qualify, the game wouldn’t have been cancelled. The ABs are able to withstand typhoons. Such is the power of their mana.

I mean, they play rugby in Wellington in June/July, which is pretty much the same thing. But with sleet.morepork wrote:Parisse thinks that if the ABs needed the bonus point win to qualify, the game wouldn’t have been cancelled. The ABs are able to withstand typhoons. The ABs are able to withstand typhoons, but can’t be asked to play in a different stadium. Perhaps their mana is location dependent.morepork wrote:Parisse thinks that if the ABs needed the bonus point win to qualify, the game wouldn’t have been cancelled. I think we need to keep in perspective that this could be the strongest Typhoon to hit Japan in 50 years. Lives could well be lost. Rugby, on the other hand, is just a game.

That's just a typical response to be expected of a member of the snowflake generation... you've got a government hell bent on putting every farmer out of business and flooding the world with pine tree products(theres only ever gonna be one Pinetree). Words just fail me, I may have to have a stiff drink to get over this all.Lizard wrote:I think we need to keep in perspective that this could be the strongest Typhoon to hit Japan in 50 years.
