Foxy and Patchell out
Reported on the BBC that Foxy has undergone knee surgery and will miss the six nations, whilst Patchell will also be our for three months.
Opportunity for another centre to have a run at OC, real shame for Patchell who could have made a strong case for the 10 shirt.

As I said on the 6 nations thread it's a good opportunity to try out Lane, Evans and McNicholl, Liam also misses the start of the tournament, Anscombe is out for the whole tournament.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Oh FFS.

So did foxy play 2 full games (one pointless) on an injured knee?

Looks that way doesn’t it?Buggaluggs wrote:So did foxy play 2 full games (one pointless) on an injured knee?
With Patchell and Anscombe out then it’s either an opportunity for Evans or we will have Biggar at fly half. The sensible approach is probably to use both for this tournament .

Re: Foxy and Patchell out
It's well-timed for Sam, whose move to the Dragons looks like it might be having the effect we hoped.
Still looks like Biggar will be the main man though. That's okay for now, but someone needs to kick on so IMO we should look at starting one of Evans, Davies or A. N. Other in the home games, with Biggar as insurance.

Dumb of the Ospreys to let him go, but looks like it's working for him and the Dragons.Sourdust wrote:It's well-timed for Sam, whose move to the Dragons looks like it might be having the effect we hoped.

Re: Foxy and Patchell out
Nah, it made perfect sense for both parties to let Sam go when we signed Anscombe. We think of Sam as a kid but he's 26, and if he can't be a regular 1st-choice 10 now he might as well call it a day. The arrival of Anscombe signalled loud and clear that he wouldn't be getting that at Osreys.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Dumb of the Ospreys to let him go, but looks like it's working for him and the Dragons.Sourdust wrote:It's well-timed for Sam, whose move to the Dragons looks like it might be having the effect we hoped.

It's just stupid (if tiresomely predictable) bad luck that Anscombe was crocked about 5 minutes later.
