Of course there are options, but is it would be starting from scratch. I'm in the biomedical research field, which is very topical at the moment, but neither industry nor academia are really looking to splurge on new hires and expand their programs right at the present. I'm not that big a catch. There is a recession coming everywhere. Maybe NZ will get it's act together and finally legalise Cannabis and I can start growing medicinal weed on the West Coast of the South Island.
That's tough. We can all see the USA is steadily driving you insane.

I feel a hint of that here in England, but coping at the moment. If Scotland exits, however, the lock-in of Tory government might make me consider other options. No sure what though . . . I'd probably still stay to fight a hopeless fight (I used to support the Lib Dems, so I know all about that).

Why not just hop north of the border, then? They're definitely fully paid up members of the legalize movement... Did some work for a grow box company from Canada.

We're also putting plans in place for escaping the central European Trump. Problem is...there aren't actually many countries left in the world without idiotic leaders that aren't too bloody cold or on the other side of the bloody planet.

That's superb. From 2018 though, unfortunately, so it appears Carlson hasn't learned and has regressed back to his base understanding that Democratic Socialism means Venezuela and the dying days of the USSR.

The untimely death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is unlikely to add any civility to the election. Whether the GOP want to go full on hypocritical (well, maybe fuller on) we'll have to wait and see, the early noises are not good

Not sure reading qualifies anyone to be nominated to or by the Trump administration. However Eric has said that he has watched an episode of Suits, so he's probably overqualified for the SCOTUS. Shame really as he would be a great pick!

I guess looking ahead, Stephen Breyer is now the oldest justice at 82 (and on the left wing, a Clinton nominee), so should Trump get re-elected we'd better hope his health holds.

By the same token, if Biden wins we should hope Breyer does the sensible thing and resigns during Biden's term.


(NB I'm getting this from Wikipedia. I'd never heard of Breyer 10 minutes ago. :))
