Choking in sport

Post by Puja »

Read this today and thought you lot might be interested in it. Nothing explicitly about rugby, but a lot of analysis about the mental side of sport and performing in pressure situations: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/ ... etes-choke

This thread does not deliver what the title promised me.

Interesting read though. Ta.

Were you thinking it a thread some might suggest for Welsh football managers, which is to say based on suicide or assault?

Not sure about Dave Bedford, he must have known he didn't have a prayer at the death against a Finn, in that era. (Zey had Vays..)
Pleased Ian Stewart got a medal in that 5K, top bloke from a great running family.
Always irked that it took about 20 yrs. for Eng managers to realise that the more you practice penalty taking, the luckier you get. :|
Big Gav's miss was most odd.

Bedford wasn't really built for championship running in fairness- no finish.
