Real mix of a side. Great to see Barton, but also Freddie Thomas off the bench, who I suspect will slot into the backrow, but equally adept at lock.

I'm sure he's thrilled by that!

Good luck to Barton. Good to see him and a few other youngsters get a run out. Very tough assignment for them.

Remember him against tigers in the A league his cross kicking was one of the best I had seen.

That is a young side! Lyon have some fairly big names don't they? Though not sure how they are going in the Top 14 and how they'll approach this

Not entirely sure in all aspects, for some there’s an agreed game time cap, but I’m not sure that’s universal. All of our international players are listed as not available

Game effort but predictably Glos outgunned by a very good Lyon side. Investing in young players is laudable but its a big ask for a young scratch side to compete with the form Top14 team.

Thought Nagle-Taylor did well and Seabrook stuck at it.

Yeah massively outmuscled. Some positives though, full effort until the end, no new injuries, scored a good try and aside from the power aspect looked reasonable. I’m hoping the players see it as a positive, there plenty to take from that.

Took a dive as no chance in the comp would be my interpretation

Didn't there used to be sanctions for this sort of thing, or was it just people getting on their high horses about French clubs doing the same?

The second I think. In fairness, the comp is a tad random. Loved Baxter’s metaphorical shrug of the shoulders in a just get on with it sort of way.
