The back chat is very frustrating, although the penalty that let to the 2nd march back I think was rather dubious

Leicester need to start looking at dropping Ford into the pocket for the drop goal. Too easy for Saints to defend us in their 22.

Looked like Cole came through legally then the second Saints player came in at the side. It's the problem with the counter rucks you rarely have a player behind the ruck ready to come in and clear out.

Shame to lose Mitchell, although James has been a real find so hopefully he continues to go well

What's the mitigation for that not to be red? I think red would be harsh for that, but all of what Dickson said leads to it being red

Hmm. Looks like yellow, sounds like red?

Yes I was thinking that. Possibly some common sense? By the letter of the law Ludlam's was a penalty but we played on. From what Dickson was saying that was a red but he only gave yellow. I'd say that all washes out :?

Saints look far more dangerous. Their ill-discipline is making this game more difficult for them than it probably should be.

Tigers have had plenty of possession and territory but done little with it. Why we keep going for the rolling maul when we know Dickson doesn't penalise defences for sacking the maul I don't know. A couple of drop goal attempts and the Saints defence will start second guessing and we might get a better picture to attack.

The Wallace penalty before halftime, brainless. There's a reason he normally sits behind Reffell in the pecking order.

Shocking yellow card call by the TMO against Tigers.

Saints score a really nice try almost straight after.

Really?! If that was a legit charge down attempt, he wouldn't have been so low and aiming straight at the standing foot

He makes contact with the kicking leg though. That's why the call is really poor in my view.

If its a genuine charge down, then his understanding of space and time is warped

The lanky South African (sounding) child at 9 is EQP right?

Oh it's late but he's given a yellow card because he intentionally aims at the standing leg which he doesn't because he makes contact with the kicking leg. If the TMO and ref come to a different conclusion and award a yellow on that basis I'll listen to it but they didn't.

Born and raised in Norfolk. The build up to that try shows exactly why we rate him so highly. I think he's still 19.

He's not remotely South African qualified IIRC. I believe the family name comes (distantly) from the Netherlands rather than Boers.

Only just started watching the last 5 minutes and we just appear to be our own worst enemies. Simple strip, silly penalty, knocked on interception, then not straight lineout. Saints are giving us as many chances as we're giving them, thank gods.

That's pretty much the entire game. Saints have been clinical and we have not.

That tackle from Tonks and Ludlam was a thing of absolute beauty. Stopped Wiese absolutely dead with a 15m run-up and a perfect example of how double-tackles are perfectly possible without going high.

If the charge down yellow is harsh, what is the one just given to Tonks for a perfectly legal turnover?

Quality defence twice in a row now when Tigers were 5m out, two top notch turnovers by Tuala and Heffernan

Was he on his feet? The last couple in your 22 have been questionable. Saints had conceded a lot of penalties before the yellow I think it was just a bad picture to the ref.

Tigers nearly showing signs of an attack but we are achingly slow to the breakdown. Saints will contest everything and ok they aren't rolling away quickly but we need to be clever and give a dumb penalty at the lineout.

Exciting end to that one. Too late from Tigers though.

And Saints win. Not a surprise, they were clinical and Tigers were wasteful. So many Tigers handling errors often under little pressure, you can't do that against a side with the running game of Saints.

Tonks yellow was a terrible call from Dickson.

Saints clung on and, given the disruption before and during the game, they should be pretty satisfied. They were collectively out on their feet at the end. Ballsy stuff from Biggar, staying on when crocked.

Did you see the stat they showed early in the game that (in the kick/pass/run choices) Ford has the highest kick ratio of any FH in the league?
