It's stretching the contest out, though can't not see the new ball early doors bringing a bit of havoc.Puja wrote:Ah, the traditional bit of restoration of hope before the collapse to 285 all out tomorrow. It's no fun crumpling up into a little ball if we don't first give at least the implication that the day can be saved.

Let's see whether we can avoid losing by an innings first. It's still well within our gift to lose 8 wickets for <30 runs.fivepointer wrote:Good effort from Malan and Root but we're still 58 runs behind. Going to take a big effort batting all or most of the day to give us a winning chance.
You werent far out. That was a wretched collapse. Normal service was resumed after a decent 3rd day.Puja wrote:Let's see whether we can avoid losing by an innings first. I was up at 4.30am due to a terrible cough and I still had the ‘joy’ of waking up to an ashes batting collapse.Mellsblue wrote:I’d forgotten the ‘joy’ of waking up to an ashes batting collapse.
not going so well. Picked a side to bowl under lights, which aren't on yetGalfon wrote:Round 2 in Adelaide -
Oz lose Hazlewood & Cummins, Eng bring in Anderson & Broad.
to complete a useful albeit 1-dimensional attack, Need a few quick wickets to steal the advantage now.
Yeah the attack is really missing one of the three really quick bowlers, but only one is on tour and being managed, and a quality spinner that England just don't have.Galfon wrote:Round 2 in Adelaide -

He's a huge talent- if you are investing so much in the likes of Buttler, then agreed he's worth a dart....but not sure who you'd drop, unless can find a convincing 3.Big D wrote:Yeah the attack is really missing one of the three really quick bowlers, but only one is on tour and being managed, and a quality spinner that England just don't have.Galfon wrote:Round 2 in Adelaide -

I am not getting off the Liam Livingstone for the test team in the future bandwagon, especially if his bowling continues to improve.
If the batting doesn't improve you could almost drop any of them.Banquo wrote:He's a huge talent- if you are investing so much in the likes of Buttler, then agreed he's worth a dart....but not sure who you'd drop, unless can find a convincing 3.Big D wrote:Yeah the attack is really missing one of the three really quick bowlers, but only one is on tour and being managed, and a quality spinner that England just don't have.Galfon wrote:Round 2 in Adelaide -

True. And Buttler has dropped Labuscagne twice...unforgiveable. Poor Jimmy especially.Big D wrote:If the batting doesn't improve you could almost drop any of them.Banquo wrote:He's a huge talent- if you are investing so much in the likes of Buttler, then agreed he's worth a dart....but not sure who you'd drop, unless can find a convincing 3.Big D wrote:

It is unlikely Livingstone would fit into the line up but he'd be fun to watch.
50% improvement if buttler doesn't drop a sitter!Galfon wrote:From an aesthetic point of view I am disappointed Oz were 1 short of 222-2 going into D2, but you can't say Eng's cunning pink-nightie plan has delivered much thus far.
awful drop - must be the lights.Banquo wrote: 50% improvement if buttler doesn't drop a sitter!
