They have an outstanding first choice partnership in DDA and Am and *potentially* Esterhuizen. After that seems to me like there’s an enormous drop off.twitchy wrote:Magic_sponge wrote:Just watched the game again as was watching in the pub yesterday which for some reason means I wasn't as attentive to the smaller points.
I know everyone is talking about Esterhuizen, and I know de Allende is there, but surely, SURELY, SA don't have another centre ahead of him? In other words, how can he possibly not be in their squad at least??
They have a stupid amount of top class centres.

The back up 12 and 13 cover a variety of other positions which is why I think they tend to make the squad as opposed to Big Andre. Frans Steyn covers fullback and also at a push 10 with his big kicking game. Jesse Kriel can slot in at wing and fullback.Timbo wrote:They have an outstanding first choice partnership in DDA and Am and *potentially* Esterhuizen. Frans Steyn can't have much longer left in the tank at 34 though.

The more important question is whether it's been >3 years since his last Springbok cap and does he have an English grandparent somewhere?
