It would be a bit of a weird statement to bring him back for a dead rubber against Italy, when our current second-row is really starting to gel with two players who both have years left in them. Given the chance - whisper it but we know it's true - that this might be his last year; maybe on the bench, to come on for the applause if the game is safe? :-)

I did wonder if he might come on for the last 20 and call it quits. Then again it’s a REC next year and I would bet against him going.

Hard to see the justification for endless kicking by both teams, especially France who at least had the midfield to try and do something with the ball. The female co-commentator (whose name I momentarily forget) thought it was a fascinating contest of tactical kicking, but many kicks were just aimless boots up the middle of the pitch.
A hard fought game but the rugby was pretty dull.

Non!
I told you I thought we had a few surprises but not quite enough. France looked very ordinary at times. They’re probably doing a NZ and are starting their downward curve before the RWC.
Ah ah man , this team is still young , and still they have managed to get the win against à team that have played the perfect game plan to béat them...38 times you welsh have kicked the Ball...

They are still young, learning and they won't be on a downward curve before Biggar retirement ..

Cheers and well done Wales

That was the first Wales game I have seen without beer for many years. I thought it was both a good game and yielded useful information for future developments.

Lack of penetration at centre remains a problem.

Back row was good in many ways but not complete.

We were very good at disrupting the French line-out, altghough less so at the end of the game.

That match was not spectacular but nevertheless , it was gripping. The French defence, coached by you know who, was severely tested, so much so that I’ve read that it was the first time in thirteen years that Wales failed to score a try in Cardiff! An impressive statistic for Shaun Edwards’ cv!!

I was bitterly disappointed that Pivac wanted his own man, Byron Hayward, as his defence coach rather than Shaun Edwards. More so because within a year he sacked Hayward for lack of performance.

We needed Edwards to continue his good work in the transition from the Gatland era. Our loss your gain!

Our lineout was less offensive when Seb Davies went off.

Regarding penetration in the midfield then North will help with that, but I’m concerned that we might become overly reliant on one player. We need someone who can add some creativity and take some pressure off the fly half. As others have pointed out, I wonder if Scott Williams would add another dimension?

Unfortunately I had found out the score by forgetting the game was on and went to the beeb website.

Haven't seen it yet (well saw the first 10). At least it wasn't a shelling, but France notoriously have one bad game (and don't travel well)

Disappointing season. It was there for the taking. Only the Ireland game got away from us. Should have beaten England easily

It was less effective in the second half but was it really due to the lack of Seb? It might just have been a word from the coaches at half time and a slightly adjusted approach.

France did mix things up a bit but the lack of heighnat the back gave them some space later on the game.

Agree with this. France had a lot of success throwing to Woki at the front of the lineout vs Scotland, and won some penalties while they were at it. Wales were wise to this and pressurised the front ball. France threw longer in the second half.

It was my first six nations game for a couple of years, really disappointed that lots of the ‘spontaneous’ Welsh singing is piped through the tannoy system, and the crowd join in. Happened in both halves with ‘hymns and arias’. Can’t remember that happening before.

The warmups were interesting. Wales practiced some scrums and loads of lineouts. Then ran into people holding tackle bags. At the other end, half the French players wore different coloured bibs and then just booted the ball in the air to start of an enjoyable looking warm up of attack vs defence. Completely different mindset.

We used to have a live singer to give a rendition of Guide me oh thou great redeemer just before kick off, yesterday it was pipped over the tannoy and the effect was far less as most in the stadium seemed to miss it.I hope this is just a temporary thing as its just not the same.
