Is there anything more cringingly vanilla...
...than William and Kate celebrating the Empire in a former slave colony that their direct descendents grew fat on the back of? Enough is enough.

In fairness, William has actually gone further than any British representative before in openly stating in a speech that... {checks notes} "Slavery was bad."
In terms of the low bar that this country usually trips over, it was fairly decent speech.

That opinion varies and plenty turned out to welcome them. Chances are much of the commonwealth will become republics in the near future so who knows how the relationship will change but as a couple they remain popular.morepork wrote:It was fucking nonsense. I'm very happy for them. They are however irrelevant to the daily lives of pretty much everyone and an offensive reminder of a disgraceful past. It's past a joke.
