There's free transfers for the playoffs though. This is the one stage of the season where you can be short-termist (although probably still best not to sign any LIrish players).

Man, how did you resolve this?
I put Oghre on the bench, which is already looking like a poor decision, although at least I didn't make Barbeary captain this week.
I had very little skin in last night’s games. I only had MacGinty who thankfully was on my bench. 2 points is a crap return but at least I didn’t start him!
I made the decision to sign Dolly and Steward instead of just signing Ashton. I’m starting to wonder if that was a mistake as I have a nagging feeling Ashton will get a couple of tries today.
The Opta feed must have been well off beam last night as I’ve dropped over 100pts overnight! It’s proportional as it’s the same for everyone but I’ve never seen that much of a difference.
Fair play to anyone who picked Clarke as captain. 126 is excellent if not quite as unbelievable as the 186 he had last night! I’m still scarred by the one occasion I picked him as skipper and he got 24pts after his score was doubled.
I’m just annoyed I made a late swap of Pearson in for McFarland at 6
I had another shocking week. I had choices in every position and literally every single one that I made was wrong. Even worse, my score would've been 30 points better and vaguely approcahing respectability, had Ashton and Rodd's tries not been chalked off on TMO.
Yeah what promised to be such a good week turned into a distinctly average one. Brocklebank in minus figures, Rodd, Barbeary and JL du Preez all doing really badly.
Somewhat surprisingly, the overall number 1 spot is in reach for me. I’m currently 4th, 76pts behind the person in 1st. I outscored them by 79pts last round so it’s not wildly optimistic to think I could do it again. I doubt I will, but I have a shot.
I think it’s important to have a really good R26 because the play offs level the playing field and make it a lot harder to find the real difference makers.
I’m definitely going to crowd-source your ideas for captain choice next round as that’s my Achilles heel.
Despite the decimation of my final round squad I still have an outside chance of winning this thing. However, a good choice of captain is going to key and I’m consistently rubbish at it and I’d welcome your collective wisdom.
I have three potential choices in mind: Genge, McGuigan or Mitchell.
I’m slightly hesitant on Genge as I have a feeling he’ll be subbed early on with the playoffs in mind. Falcons have nothing to play for other than avoiding being 13th so I expect McGuigan to do 60+. Saints have to go for it so I’m attracted to the idea of Mitchell.

Thoughts???
I'm going Mitchell. Northampton need to win and win well and he runs decent support lines so there's a chance he's on the end of a couple of tries. Hes a consistent scorer, though I don't think I've ever seen him have that huge week, so wouldn't if you're minded to gamble. The alternative could be someone like Freeman.
If I'm Newcastle this is a good opportunity to give Blamire more minutes (I'm surprised he's not starting tbh).
Mitchell’s had quite a few 40+pts weeks. I’d be happy with one of those.
I have a few other leftfield contenders - Robinson, Clarke and Ludlow are all capable of big scores and I feel like Smith is due a big game after posting pretty average scores for the last few.
I opted to roll the dice this week as I have a comfortable (ish) lead over the spot below but need quite a swing to snag the team above. I had too many locks and backrow but not enough props and backs as I'd forgotten it was LI's bye week.
Managed to fill two of the spots and then took a 20 point hit and gambled on the third to have a full team. Probably won't work out but as I said roll of the dice time.

I was going to go for Clarke, but have changed my mind and gone for Mitchell. A second row is a great-or-terrible option because of the multiplier that metres made gets you for them - one decent break and they're up in the 40s.
However, even a weakened Saracens team is still a Saracens team and I can see them locking the game down, especially if the weather's bad. Saints will always play fast and Mitchell's a good bet for a try or an assist or two.
Well if it’s any consolation, I won the league by almost 1000pts (excluding Scotty), but usually do poorly in the play-offs. There’s every chance I blow it over the next 2 rounds.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again. The standard of our little league is extremely high. In my works league I won it by nearly 2500 points ahead of the second place player. In our league here I am but in a mere 14th place.
I hate these play-offs from a fantasy POV. There’s not really any reward for having a good season and lot of people end up with he same 23s so then it boils down to who picks the captain and chooses the right players to start.
I’m conflicted as I want to back my Quins players, but that gives me some big dilemmas. For example, will Smith have a performance to grace the semi final or should I back Ford to benefit from Tigers dominating Saints up front? Decisions decisions …
