Sad news that Llanelli, Wales and Lions legend Phil Bennett has passed away following a long illness.
It’s hard to know which parts of his career to highlight as there were so many, so I’ll just say ‘thanks for the memories Benny’.
A true legend and gentleman. RIP.
RIP Benny

Re: RIP Benny
Just seen a video of the unveiling of his statue earlier this year in Felinfoel (sp?) and I was shocked that he looked so frail.
A fabulous player who lit up the game wherever he played. So sad that he was taken from us at a relatively young age.

He was playing when I was first introduced to rugby by my dad. Wonderful player and it seemed Wales rarely lost with him in the team. Wonderful man too.

btw that try against Scotland. I remember watching that live and my mum asking why he had to slide in because his shorts would need to be washed now.
