Portugal have at least 1 good lurking game in them..485 club & 56 national goals by CR pre-tourn..impressive stats. for sure.

This is the result of having a decent manager capable of identifying players strengths and having them carry out their roles and trusting the system. Not just that, but instilling the belief into the team.

Bale just oozes confidence when he talks about Wales and you can understand his levels of self-belief as he is one of the best in the world but he talks up Wales as he believes in the team.

Beyond Bale and Ramsey, I'm sure most, (non Welsh) people would struggle to tell you much about the Welsh team going into this tournament. I don't think that's the case anymore.

This team has made history and has a great chance of going even further.

For all the talk of 'pride' and 'passion', Wales have shown plenty of skill and ability too.

Can't believe this fella's still managing after nearly 40 years - he had a part to play in this team's success too..this is what he was saying last year:

Yup ! This is the first game I've watched all the way thru' . Early goal made it interesting and Wales refusal to be outplayed and outscored was a joy to watch .

I shall be shouting for you of course , you deserve it, but I hope England put 40 points on you next 6N's .

Keep going Wales and I shall keep watching .

halb-zeit..at last, chances both ends.
could have been 1-1, but it isn't - still bagel city.
both nullifying each other.
hopefully 'twill open up as players tire later on.

How Draxler messed up that simple through ball a few minutes ago is beyond me. That was a 1 on 1 with the keeper.

If this goes to penalties, Italy will win.

Penalties it is.

Cheeky Italians avoiding taking the throw with time up as they want to bring Zaza on. Chiellini hitting the deck for effect.

Zaza to be the hero?
