Wales turn to MK Dons Church to turn the game round! There is only so far team spirit will take you, and it looks like the semi - final.

We finally get a decision from the official behind the goal, and it's a wrong one.

5hit game. Portugal deserving the win if only on the basis of being more clinical. The winner will definitely come from the other semi. Slight silver lining is I've got Portugal in the sweepstake.

Anyway, since I'm the football sageI'm sorry to tell you Wales won't get past Portugal. It's not that Ronaldo's boys are playing great football or anything, but they're a much more wily team than Belgium and will find a way to deal with Wales, even if it comes to another penalty shootout

& the sage thinks Germany will break French hearts tomorrow - but hopes he's wrong...

If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Wal 0 - 2 Por.
Wal. can concentrate on the WC now..Por. least ordinary of the 2 teams today through to final where they will lose to Ger. or Fra.

Game over. Ah well they've done themselves proud for a bunch of players from unfashionable and lower/non league teams.

Re: Euro's
On the bright side; I took advantage of the empty Welsh roads to bag myself a few local KOMs whilst the footie was on.
Every cloud...
Of all the teams that were left in the tournament, I was confident Wales had the beating of Portugal. They have been absolutely dreadful but they've made the final! Would be a travesty if they win it.
As for Wales. Well done. Blydi well done. Da iawn!
Showed some fantastic team spirit throughout. Constant self-belief and you could see the togetherness of the group of players. Absolutely tore Belgium a new one and toyed with Russia. They played some fantastic stuff at times. Rode their luck against NI but had the own goal not been scored, Robson-Kanu (I think) was there to poke it in. The only thing that surprised me was the passive tactics against England. Had Wales of backed themselves in that match, England may have been saved the embarrassment of losing to Iceland!

7' 10" apparently when he connected with the cross. Bale is superb but IMHO, Ronaldo's a significantly better player than the Welshman will ever be.WaspInWales wrote:Ronaldo can't half jump!
As an aside, is this a flash in the pan for Wales? They've done remarkably well but can they sustain it?

Bar a few sloppy passes in the 2nd half, I thought Bale outplayed Ronaldo who was only evident at set pieces.Parsifal wrote:7' 10" apparently when he connected with the cross. Re: Euro's
Time will tell of course but I think they have the foundation of a good team. They're clearly well coached and have a great team ethos. They've shown they can play a bit too.Parsifal wrote:7' 10" apparently when he connected with the cross. I still don't think they're as good as some of their players think they are. They beat a 'star-studded' Belgium team who are ranked #2 in the world. How on earth Belgium are ranked higher than Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Holland (last two are a bit tenuous), is beyond me.
Anyway, on to WC qualifying and Wales have a good chance of getting through. Not an easy group by any means as Austria, Ireland and Serbia are all capable of qualifying too.
As for Bale, I'm inclined to agree that Ronaldo is a better player but Bale is without a doubt world class.
