Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
I stand corrected, try Ospreys from a driving lineout. Not a simple conversion though, 4 minutes to go.
Hang on, TMO intervention. Try stands though.
Nailed it. 16-16 with 3 minutes to go.

Stormers put a drop goal attempt wide with 30 seconds to go.
Ospreys attacking but Watkin (who has defended well) drops the pill. 16-16, decent comeback but chance missed for the Ospreys

Could have gone either way . . . we'll take the draw, better than we would have expected. Great defence, great scrummaging, great goal-kicking.

Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
It was a horrible night, even less atmos than usual, and I was utterly resigned to defeat after the Stormers try.
A draw at home is never a triumph, but against the champions, in a downpour, with every scrum eating 5 mins off the clock, to come back from 9-16 was a very decent effort. Like the Scarlets game previously, I feel like it was a "winning draw". Arguably unlike that game, I think we deserved it.
Myler continues to amaze. Four hundred and seven years old, but I hope he signs on for another year next time. An absolute pro, there's just such a sense of security with him at 10.

Craig Evans can fuck off. That was never a yellow card.

Agreed. Long way back from here for the Dragons though.

Hopefully having the wind behind us will help.

So far so good. Could have levelled it there

Cheap penalties are killing them at the moment.

Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
Dragons discipline has robbed them of a chance. The ref did is no favours with that awful yellow but too many easy let outs for Cardiff when we had territory and momentum.
An entertaining game to be fair.

Totally agree. 7 points down and playing in Cardiff’s 22 with a strong wind at their backs with 20 to go, I almost made the Dragons to be favourites. That discipline was a nightmare though. They play the Ospreys next week, and will have to tighten up.
Flanagan was very positive in the week but he won’t have enjoyed that

Top two inches were missing. Held on in the first half but really should have capitalised after the break when everything was going their way, until someone cocked up and gave away a silly penaltyWallpaperman wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:18 pm Totally agree. 7 points down and playing in Cardiff’s 22 with a strong wind at their backs with 20 to go, I almost made the Dragons to be favourites. On to the Scarlets then. Surely, surely they are going to win.

Best give some credit to Cardiff, too. Deserved winners, Young a decent shout for man of the match, Basham’s injury would have helped him. Tomos Williams for my money though, he looked sharp as a razorWallpaperman wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:34 pmSandydragon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:21 pmTop two inches were missing. Williams is the form scrum half by a country mile. Adams looked sharp too and I hope he isn’t seriously hurt. Faletau more steady than eye catching and Young is a good player.
And I think Llewelyn has a good chance of a call up this AI.

Nice early try for the Scarlets but under the cosh for a few minutes, with a 5 metre line out to defend now...

7-5 after 20ish minutes, Scarlets not winning the arm wrestle at the moment

Lovely break from Costelow sees Jon Davies in under the sticks but I think Hardy dropped the ball. Yup, lost forward, great chance blown. Not stunning from Hardy so far

Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
Scarlets back at the business end though and Lousi barges over next to the sticks. Try awarded although it wasn’t clear that he grounded it on replay. Anyway, 14-5 is a bit better.

Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
Zebre mess up another 5 metre line out, after a penalty for not rolling away. Scarlets defence not great overall but fair play they win a penalty there. Ken Owens looking a bit tired in his first game back, having treatment but he is ok to carry on

Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
Lovely run up the left from Conbeer after a high tackle on Costelow. The 2 young backs are the pick of the bunch so far. Yellow card for a late no arms hit on Scott Williams, Zebre loose head in the bin

Re: URC Round 4 Fixtures
Another lovely run from Conbeer, beats 3 or 4 tackles but hauled down short. Macleod knocks heads with Zebre player as ball is recycled and ref blows up so he can be looked at. He’s ok, and Scarlets have a scrum 8 metres from the line, just over a minute to the break. Jon Davies gets over the line and dabs the ball down after a strong pick up and drive from Kalamafoni (who else ?). Not a great half but a good end for the Scarlets, 21-5 at the break
