FFS Cardiff concede a penalty at the lineout maul and it’s another attacking Stormers lineout 5 to go

This one is a little further out and Cardiff hold it up, ball goes infield and Stormers knock on. Cardiff scrum about 15 metres from their line, 3 and a half to go. Running repairs for Turnbull who has given 100% again.

Big Stormers scrum, Cardiff run it. Stormers impatient at the ruck, penalty Cardiff on their own 22, good touch near the Stormers 22, 2 to go

Botham takes the lineout and Stormers pull the maul down. Penalty Cardiff 39 metres out, in the last minute. Presumably will take a long time over this place kick. Still has not kicked it and we’re in the red

Priestland nails it, Cardiff with a great win despite being seriously overpowered physically. Just what the doctor ordered after the Scarlets last night

Great result for Cardiff. Priestland had a great game, but so did plenty of others. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Excellent work by Cardiff to hold on to the lead at the end. I thought it was just a matter of time since the Stormers had a recipe for easy tries. All told though they couldn't handle the slippery ball.

That was a good win and it looked like the Stormers always had a way to score, especially from a driving maul.

Thought Priestland was very good.

Thoroughly enjoyable first half at Rodney Parade, lucky with the weather too. Dragons have done really well to come back into it but I think the ospreys might have another gear in the second half. They will still be down to 14 for a few minutes of the second half though.

I loved the Dragons game. A cracking derby. Obviously, I loved the Cardiff game more, but it felt like a swallow that doesn't prove the summer is here. Building on it is priority and the starting point is at 10. Priestland proved what a class act he is and how wasted he is at 15.

Priestland is our form fly half. As this is World Cup season and form now is what matters, he should be fighting Biggar for the ten short and should be starting against the all blacks in a couple of weeks.

Fair play to Cardiff, good comeback in that first half after a slow start. Hope they can continue the streak !!

Unlucky there Cardiff, try chalked off for a forward pass by Evans. Edinburgh back up to 15 following the expiry of the yellow card period. Still 17-15 with about half an hour left

That’s a crock. Thomas Young pinged for a high tackle by the TMO, when it looked like chest/shoulder. Boffeelli slots it Edinburgh lead by 1 point on 55 minutes

Then back to the Cardiff 5 metre line after 3 quick penalties in a row. I think the ref was kidded on 2 of them where Cardiff were pinged for tackling the jumper, when he was kept in the air for a long time.

Anyway Edinburgh roll over the line and it’s an 8 point lead for Edinburgh now

A bunch of scrum penalties against Cardiff, the last one looked like a wrong decision. About 15 minutes to go, but one way traffic for the last 15 minutes or so. The streak is in some danger

Lengthy stoppage for an injury, thankfully Boyle looks ok. Cardiff attack from the scrum and Dachowski goes through a gap and into the 22. With just the full back left he makes the odd choice to chip and chase, and loses the ball in the process

Cardiff go through shedloads of phases in the Edinburgh 22 but are eventually turned over. About 3 minutes left, surely that’s it

They play on to about 86 minutes as Cardiff want a losing bonus point, and Edinburgh a 4th try, but it ends 17-25. Credit to Edinburgh, they put the squeeze on between 50-65 minutes and built a winning lead. Poor from Cardiff who just conceded too many penalties in the second half, and didn’t take their chances.

A poor weekend for the regions especially following the derby game between Dragons & Ospreys last weekend, and Cardiff beating the Stormers.

Cardiff wont cross the line 5 times too often and only score two tries . Penalties killed them in the second half but the referee seem to decide for about 10 minutes that anything cardiff did in the set piece deserved a penalty. The high tackle award against Thomas Young was poor, but then.so was Evans' missed touch after their penalty.

Not a great weekend but Cardiff were at least competitive. Ospreys sent out a young side and came close. The less
Said about Llanelli the better.
