Sale have done well to stay in this, although unsurprisingly they are rather up against it.

If you're going to play a team like that Toulouse outfit you can't be missing so many first choice players. Your 9/10/12 for starters.

Ramos cited twice. Possible eye gouge on Warr and headbutt on Mcguigan

He got sent off late in the game didn't he for the headbutt. The gouge as well could pretty much end his season. Be a blow for club and country. Pretty nasty stuff. Was it that niggly a game?

I’ve never thought Ramos as that sort of player, and I await the citing decision with impatience as it would indeed be a blow for Toulouse and France, but Toulouse can now call on Melvin Jaminet who should be fit for selection for Friday evening’s home Top14 match against Castres.

Certainly there's very few English squads who can compete with key players missing against the bigger French squads.

Given Sale's approach it was always going to be an uphill struggle against that pack.

Allegedly a lot of off the ball stuff which amazingly the French TV producers didn't show.

There really does need to be something done about that. At the moment, the French TV producers are embarrassingly partisan with what they will and won't show replays of, with away team infringements replayed over and over in varying slo-mos and angles to rile the crowd until the TMO intervenes, and video of home infractions mysteriously not being worthy of any kind of replay at all.

I think its probably going to need a sufficiently egregious example to happen in the World Cup semis or final, for it to actually gather sufficient outrage to even get an official conversation about taking action started.

Ramos is suspended for five weeks. If Jaminet puts some good performances together, he may well take Ramos’ place in the French XV, although Brice Dulin of La Rochelle is in excellent form at fullback.

The French depth at the moment is just deeply unfair.

"The committee then decided that the two sanctions of five weeks and four weeks should run concurrently and Ramos is therefore free to play on Monday, 23 January 2023. "

Hmm, couldn't have him miss the 6N now could we lads.

The citing and disciplinary process embarrassing itself? Never.

Consistency you say? I'm not sure they could spell it...
