Sarries vs Bristol, r16

Post by jimKRFC »

Sarries team:
1 Robin Hislop, 2 Theo Dan, 3 Christian Judge, 4 Andrew Kitchener, 5 Hugh Tizard, 6 Andy Christie, 7 Jackson Wray (c), 8 Billy Vunipola
9 Aled Davies, 10 Manu Vunipola, 11 Alex Lewington, 12 Duncan Taylor, 13 Alex Lozowski, 14 Rotimi Segun, 15 Alex Goode

Replacements:
16 Kapeli Pifeleti, 17 Eroni Mawi, 18 Alec Clarey, 19 Cameron Boon, 20 Tom Ellis, 21 Ivan van Zyl, 22 Nick Tompkins, 23 Francois Hougaard

Bristol:
15. Rich Lane, 14. Siva Naulago, 13. Semi Radradra, 12. James Williams, 11. Gabriel Ibitoye, 10. AJ MacGinty, 9. Harry Randall
1. Yann Thomas, 2. Harry Thacker, 3. Max Lahiff, 4. Joe Batley, 5. Chris Vui, 6. Steven Luatua (c), 7. Jake Heenan, 8. Magnus Bradbury

Sub: 16. Bryan Byrne, 17. Jake Woolmore, 18. Jonathan Benz-Salomon, 19. Ed Holmes, 20. Fitz Harding, 21. Andy Uren, 22. Callum Sheedy, 23. Jack Bates

Bristol out of form and struggling against the league leaders at home. Even weakened as Sarries are I fully expect Bristol to find a way to waste the chance and come away with 0. God this season is bad.... :(

This isnt a scary looking Saracens XV. When you factor in who Bristol have selected at FB, an away win seems eminiantly possible.

Who's James Williams at 12 for Bristol? Don't recognise him and the name stands out in an otherwise stacked Bristol backline.

Saracens team doesn't look scary but there's a lot of experienced operators loitering in there to make life difficult for Bristol.

He came in from Hartpury, plays 10/12, and was their leading scorer in his last season there. Looked pretty decent against USAP and he's getting more game time now (assume it took some time to get up to speed).

Highlights the comedy, like Tigers / Saints of the seasons construct. I say construct…

Knew we'd find a way..... 80 seconds left, a four point lead and we kick the ball to Sarries who proceed to score a try.

Two dis-allowed Bristol tries and a bunch of stupid penalties again. Bris need some changes soon or we'll be bottom again next year.

How about Wigglesworth as attack coach, that would definitely change things for you.

:D we have enough issues thanks!!

Either Lam gets on knees and begs Reihana to come back or Lansdown moves Lam "upstairs" and gets someone else in. The team is a mess....

That was, probably, the weakest Sarries sides in years. Bris were well on top and they still balls it up with stupid play and a lack of game management.

Interesting photo of what looks like a clear shoulder to head shot on Semi here;

I followed on Twitter so trying to find out if it was looked at in the game. Hard to see (from that) how Goode could stay on the field from that.

That photo is not a clear anything without seeing what speed or direction anybody was moving.

Looks more like a seatbelt tackle to me.

To be fair, if Goode had tackled at waist height he risked getting his eye poked out

A good example of how photos can be deceptive. Semi dipped and drove into Goode, who ended up on his arse after this

I was aware that it might be misleading, so did try and find out if anything was raised in the game, but it was fairly clear there was nothing to it from the lack of any clips (that I could find) or comment.
