Bit harsh. Of the 3, Edwards has been the one who has been most effective, our defense (until recently) has been very good. If we had a choice to keep one of the 3, it would have been Edwards in my opinion.
Maybe he has failed to keep up with the game, don't know. But he is still a decent coach.
If he has failed to keep up with the game, Toulon don't need him and he needs to find a way to continuously develop. Watching other coaches will surely spark some thoughts on how he might translate that to the national team. If this was always the intention I would welcome it, though it might have been better for all concerned if he stayed behind in NZ in the NH off season and done it. If it was a second job, I agree with your discontent.
As I said, if the ntention was personal development then why one day a week, which is hugely inconvenient. Pers Deb wouldn't be paid for by Toulon so the WRU would be funding a return flight every week which seems daft when the same benefit could be had from a week.
Perhaps we should send Howley to New Zealand to shadow an attack coach for a month. If he fails to improve, we cancel his return ticket. Win, win in my book.

If a long-standing coach of a national team has to be sent abroad to learn the job from those in a lesser position, he's probably the wrong man for the job in the first place. Wales would likely benefit from a completely new coaching team. The current lot has gone stale after a long run together. Every team needs a shake up now and again.
