Gatland and the squad get our new RWC adventure underway this weekend. Let’s hope the training and conditioning pays off and players are reaching peak condition.
We’ve got three interesting but tough warmup games and if we can bring the squad members through without serious knocks and injuries then I will feel happy going into the Fiji opener.
Like Wales, the Fijians are little bit of an unknown. They beat Samoa recently but have lost a few key players. Our front five really need to put their scrum under pressure and win a few penalties to give Biggar the opportunity to gain territory and set our rolling maul going. We don’t want to throw loose passes either and then see them intercepted.
I know it’s not always the case but if we are fitter than them, then we could put the game beyond doubt in the last quarter.
I don’t know what to think about Australia under Eddie Jones. They seem to have lost their way but so often they have been our nemesis.
It would be great win both matches. Happy days!
Now it starts…

That’s the spirit! Standby for the counter swing to pessimism tomorrow
